Thinking of booking a week in June for 30th wedding anniversary, my husband loves sunsets so are the studios sunset facing so to speak? Also how high up is the hotel - I have a fear of heights when it comes to sheer drops - not too bad if it's sloping! Many thanks
Yes, the suites face the sunset which btw is the most spectacular sunset in the world. As everything in Santorini it is high up but that's what Santorini is all about. The views are amazing and you can simply spend all day sitting on your patio or by the pool enjoying it
Hi. I think the Millhouse would be fine for what you are planning. The great sunsets are clearly visible from all levels. My wife also has a problem with heights but did not experience any difficulties even when looking over the balcony at the sea below. One small word of warning as the weather is likely to be hot. The swimming pool at the Millhouse is only very small; not much more than a plunge pool so more than 4-6 people cannot really share it at one time. It is really just a means of cooling off rather than swimming. Enjoy your holiday! In all other respects the Millhouse is a great location.
The hotel is built into a cliff and you have to go down from the road on a fairly steep stairway to get to it. Not unusual for this area as most are like this. We had a beautiful suite right overlooking the pool. The view was breathtaking. Unless you walk to the edge of the pool area, height should not be a problem. I think it would be a great place for a vacationThey pick you up at the airport which makes it easy to get there.
I think you'd be fine there if you're scared of heights. I understand because my Mum is too. Whilst everything is set up on the caldera in Santorini it doesn't give you the feeling of being uncomfortably high. Re the sunsets yes they are stunning & very beautiful from Millhouses. You wouldn't really sit in your room to see them but if you got the honeymoon suite you'd definitely have your own small verandah area that you could happily sit at to view them. Our studio room didn't have a balcony so we would just sit out at the bench overlooking the pool with strawberries & champagne & it was beautiful. Plenty of bars around too to see the sunset or one day around mid afternoon you could also go into Oia where many people make a trip one day to see the sunset. It does get busy there so you need to go early & secure your spot in a nice restaurant or bar. We hired a quad bike to get around the island as it can be hard to find parking. I doubt you'd really need a car as the transport (busses) are pretty regular. Avoid going into town when the cruise ships are in too!! Have fun, it's THE most beautiful place!
Yes the hotel is perfectly facing the sunset. As far as the height it is the same height and most other hotels on the cliff, however my girlfriend is afraid of heights and at no point did she feel uncomfortable or even notice the height of the hotel! You will have an amazing stay! And say on to Chris!!
It's not scary high. Book the honeymoon suite or the better one. June is high season and might be hot. I would suggest to rent a car if you want to explore the island. Make sure you rent from a respectable company, it's possible they won't have a car for you. I have seen it happening.
