I have two teens (13 & 15) who like to walk around alone an be independent some times. I see the sun sets here at 6:00pm. Is it safe for them to walk around alone (together or individually) after sun set?
Hi! Our surroundings are very safe, but other guest comments are right in pointing out that some walking trails are not lit. The local community is not touristy so there are not evening spots or shops for your teens to explore. Within our property, our guests can walk safely at all times. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our reservations department for more detailed suggestions.
As others have said it's very dark and not well lit however the hotel bus will transport them and there's a phone down on the beach
Never felt surroundings posed threat either during day or night...you have nothing to worry about...the people are wonderful.
I liked the walk from the beach to the hotel - and didn't even at night (a 7-10 minute walk, depending on your pace).
Having said that, got to tell you - it feels slightly creepy - there's no lighting for a a good 5 minutes of the walk (used light from my cellphone to light the path).
I never felt unsafe, and I always welcomed that walk - but it did require stepping past a "Path Closed at Night" sign, so go figure...
It's very dark and there isn't much lighting so it's hard to walk from the beach to lobby area at night. That said, I drove a golf cart with a small headlight to/from the beach and lobby at night alone as a female and felt perfectly safe.
I would say yes. The resort is very isolated so walking up from the beach is safe usually only locals and guests. Not much to do there for teens but the pool, the beach and the hotel activities.
there aren't many places to walk at night. I would agree the beach area is okay and near the lobby is okay. from the beach to the lobby a van is needed due to the darkness .
Yes,I'd say within the beach area of the resort from the point to the cliffs which define the beach and within the resort.
It's safe. There are usually people walking after sunset. But it'll be so dark and plenty of turns. I wouldn't let them wander
It seems that the property group has provided a great answer to your inquiry. While we were at the property we met several families who sort of 'just met' and the groups of tweens from the families had their hang outs together. Board games and swim time back at the rentals/rooms. The property lends itself to people socializing and meeting new groups - of course that too is chance. One of the lovely aspects of this property is that you can plan evening activities which will of course help with some of those empty hours. So, as far as a yes or no answer. I would note the management's comments. One reason we found the place charming is that it was authentic and not a commercial sort of place.
