How much time should we a lot to visit Green Gables?
I agree with those who said 1-2 hours really depends how big a fan you are. Gives you ample time to visit all the building, see Anne and do the walks.
I agree with previous responses, but would probably lean toward a shorter time frame....hour to hour and a half. It really depends on if you’ve read the books & are a fan, and how much prior knowledge you have. In my case, I visited first, bought the first book there and read it and others afterwards. But I HIGHLY recommend the ‘Anne of Green Gables’ musical in Charlottetown at the Confederation center of the arts, and then HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend ‘Anne and Gilbert’ musical at the small Guild Theatre across the street from Victoria Row. It’s absolutely outstanding!
We took 3 hours but that included both walks, reading and looking at the different exhibits in the new welcome building. Also going on the guided tour.
I think and hour or two, depending on the crowd and time of year, should be sufficient specially if you go in September and/ or a weekday.
I would allow 1 - 2 hours as you might like to walk the 2 tracks nearby + explore the gift shop.
We spent 4 hours there & flew by
I think 2 hours will be good. It will give you enough time to enjoy a stroll on the lover’s lane.
If you are like to walk around -- probably 2 hours. The house is about a 20 minute tour -- but then there are the gardens around the house and a short walk to Lucy Maud Montgomery's grave is a short walk away.
About two hours, gives time to explore, sit outside and enjoy the lush green surrounding.
We thought we were going to be there for about an hour, but we stayed for 3.5 hours. I had read the books as a child, and watched the films, but my husband and children (7 & 10 yrs) had not. We reviewed the exhibit (about 30 min); stopped for the photo booth, did house tour twice, did the Haunted Wood walk, and part of the Lovers Lane walk, and did the 1 hour ceilidh (which is only available sometimes), and meandered through the gift shop. You can easily take less time, but it was a beautiful day, and surprisingly, my children enjoyed themselves. The grounds are spacious enough to accommodate children easily.
