What is the view like from the rooms that do not have a view on the waterhole? Does one see wildlife from those rooms?

All the rooms are lovely, but I think the only ones with a clear view are those near the waterhole. Remember though that the real opportunity to see animals are on the game drives in the morning and evening. During the day, especially if it is warm, the animals are quiet. Sleeping. But I did thoroughly enjoy the view of the watering hole.

You can see wildlife from the other rooms when they are walking to and from the watering hole. You never know what you might see. It's wild Africa. Even if no animals pass by its still a beautiful view of the bush.

Yes we saw zebra, elephant, baboons and wildebeest from our terrace making their way past heading for the waterhole round the corner.

While the waterhole in front of the dining area obviously offers better possibilities of seeing wildlife that from the chalets, the fact that the chalets face the veld and as such means that there is always a possibility of seeing some wildlife even though it is not in profusion that is more obvious at the waterhole. The chalets are unfenced which means there is always the possibility of wildlife moving around your chalet, particularly at night- hence the rule about not leaving your chalet at night without an armed ranger escorting you. Besides this, I think that you must also appreciate the fact that part of the experience of the bush is simply that- you are in the bush away from the rush of the city life we accept as being part of our everyday lives. It is a chance to experience the atmosphere of peace and an appreciation of the fact that there is more to life than rushing around as we normally do. Also, not to forget that what you will see on the game drives will more than satisfy your desire to see wildlife. The African bush is special; there is only one Africa and its bush. What you will see during dinner at the waterhole is the cherry on the top. Enjoy the bush in its totality- and part of that is the quiet and rejuvenation of your spirits!

Actually, we had a close view of the access route to the watering hole as opposed to the hole itself. This proved to be an excellent place to watch animals trundle up the trail (in some ways superior, because we saw things first). Elephants etc were very close to our room and you heard them before you saw them

Yes!! I saw so much. Whilst on the balcony I saw giraffe, lion, rhino, zebra. The only thing with the bush is that you just can't guarantee it because you don't know where they will be but if you get up early enough then you do have a better chance.

We had a room on the other side of the waterhole and did not see any wildlife outside the room. But one evening we saw a scorpion outside our room - the employee/guard who followed us to the room/cottage got it simply out in the wild again. Another time one of us hit on a wild cobra on the way too the main building - luckily a wery small one! Exciting.

During our 3 days stay we didn't spend alot of time in the room thoug - we were out gameing (twice a day) - then wee got delicious food and relaxed - like the animals. And we all tried the spa once - recommended.
