Hi

I have just been contacted about some work going on on the Dam very close to the lodge, was this an impact on your holiday?

Was it noisy?

We were there recently during the work. It was not an issue and caused no concern

They were working when we were there in August - although it meant that when they were working there were fewer animals wandering near the "tents" it had no impact on the game drives and it certainly wasn't too noisy. The lodge also offered us free "goodies" in return for the disruption. I thought they handled it brilliantly and we still had a wonderful time.

Hi, we arrived on a Friday afternoon and left just after breakfast on the Monday. We were lucky as no work took place over the weekend. The work started up on the Monday and we only experienced it for a couple of hours before we checked out. it wasn't too bad but, I'll be honest, if it had been going on the whole time we were there I'd have been a little disappointed. We understood that it must be difficult for the lodge and they're trying to make the best of the situation. We were offered a complimentary bush walk (I would highly recommend this) and a spa treatment each. It is necessary for the work to be done and I'm pleased for the lodge that they're eventually getting it. Ask to be put in a room farthest away from the dam. It doesn't affect the game drives and that was the most important part of the experience for us. The lodges are fantastic and the food was outstanding.....we loved it! I hope this helps, and I hope you have the most amazing trip!

Hi

Exactly the same than Rita A answered. We were there at beginning of September. Of 4 days they worked only one afternoon.

Hi, we could see one or two bulldozers from our balcony and they were left there overnight. The noise occurred perhaps a couple of hours in the mornings but we were out for three hours every morning for the safari drives anyway. Overall, it did not bother us much at all. The animals were there grazing on the trees and grass despite the construction. Also, we availed of the bush walks and back massages that management offered in exchange for the inconvenience of the construction. So in short, we enjoyed Simbavati Hilltop Lodge despite the construction.
