Tintswalo Safari Lodge Questions & Answers

Alpharetta, Georgia

We were advised, by International Medical Facility in GA, USA, to drink only bottled water while we toured south Africa, we are staying at this lodge. Did you drink bottled water, ice and/or tap water during your stay? Please advise at your earliest convenience. We are going in March.

Hello Susan! Our water is safe to drink, but it is very high in lime scale, so does not taste very nice. So we provide more than enough bottled water in the rooms, on the game drives and in the lodge. The water is safe to brush your teeth with though :)

We look forward to seeing you in March - is there anything special that you are celebrating or that we can do so that we can make your stay more enjoyable?

There is no requirement whatsoever to drink bottled water anywhere in South Africa. All the water from the tap comes treated and is just as safe as any other western country.

Hope that helps. It's an amazing place!

We drank a mix of bottled water, chilled carafes of water which they had in the room and drinks (g&t etc) with ice from the bar. We did not drink the tap water from the room but cleaned our teeth with the room's tap water. Neither of us had any problem with stomach upsets.

Hope you have a great time.

We stuck with bottled water. Better safe than sorry.

We eagerly look forward to our first trip to South Africa. Thank you for your feedback. Just celebrating the "bucket list" of places we want to see.
