How do you get to Driftwood Beach? What is the easiest way to access it? Where do you park?
The beach is located on Jekyll island so you firstly need to pay the $6 vehicle entry fee to enter the island.
Once you go through the entrance toll, all the attractions/ sites are quite easily signposted. You definitely need a vehicle to get to driftwood beach though as it's on the opposite side of the island (about 15 mins driving from the toll station).
There's about 3 small parking areas just off the road that runs parallel with the beach. Each one has limited area for cars and isn't marked out so getting there early is sometimes key.
It's then a 5/10 metre walk onto the beach, and it stretches for over a mile.
We could only walk for about half a mile before we had to head back as it was too hot.
Hope this helps.
Once you get on Jekyll, travel north on the beachside road. Watch for the small sign hidden somewhat by the threes. It's surrounded by a condo area.
