Debating whether to do the India Venster or 12 Apostles hike. I'd like something challenging along with beautiful views...I know both would offer that and this is why I'm conflicted! Any recommendations on which one to choose? Does India Venster take you to the highest peak?
Hi Sid. India Venster is arguably the best half-day route to the famous tabletop summit of Table Mountain. The highest point is a 30-minute walk across the "Table" (it's only about 70 feet higher than the summit plateau. Many routes of varying difficulty lead up the 12 Apostles, all of them more strenuous than India Venster, but not necessarily more technical / adventurous. Also, 12 Apostle routes are more off-the-beaten track, so more nature / solitude, if that's important to you. Both route options offer superb views - just different. E-mail me from my website and I will ask a few specific questions that will allow me to pinpoint the best route for you.
India Venster is challenging and gives you marvellous views. I haven't done the 12 Apostles but I'd ask the hiking company. Are you looking for just physical challenge or views?
Indian Venster takes you to the top of Table Mountain. From there you can walk to the cable car area.
India Venster is my preferred route, but can be pretty challenging at some points. Not impossible, but challenging.
I really liked India Venster!!! Just beautiful!
