Hi, I notice that on 2 night 3 day safari the airport transfer is over 40% of the total price. Does anyone have experience of arriving from the airport a little cheaper?

We were staying in St Lucia. It's only a couple of hours drive from Durban, Heritage picked us up at our accommodation each day and have an office in the main street.

Hi I would agree with the answers above. We did it in September very easy motorways nearly all the way. Lots of very clean rest areas with cafes, wimpys etc if you need them. We did over 1000 kms touring around and our Hyundai hire car served us well. Very easy to pick up and drop back again. We did safari days with Heritage and cannot fault them, excellent service as they collect you from your accommodation and drop you back so no driving that day! Enjoy it!

Hello Calum

I hired a car at Durban airport in November for this trip. It's a straightforward drive, mostly on a motorway, but it has tolls. These are minimal but make sure you have plenty of change. Having a car in St. Lucia gives the opportunity of exploring the area in addition to the safaris. I booked an extra day's accommodation and think it was well worth it.

Enjoy your trip,

Brian

Hello Calum,

I agree. The price was astronomical! I was able to talk them down to a slightly lesser price, but if I could do it again, I would absolutely rent a car.

Good luck! The price of that transportation is literally the only negative thing I have to say about heritage tours!

Hello Calum, try car hire. If you are flying to Durban, St Lucia is about 2 hours.

They drive on the same side as us!

Best wishes,

Dave
