If I'm interested in going to Tanzania for about two weeks what kind of vaccinations would I need to get ? And what essentials medications should I take on the trip? Thank you
Yellow fever, ADT up to date
You should definitely check on the CDC website and also with your local health department. We got yellow fever vaccinations, but I think that was a requirement for Rwanda, which we also visited. We got typhoid vaccines and made sure we were up to date on standard shots, like tetanus. Also you should have the Hep A series. As for meds, we took malaria medication (we used malarone) and brought cipro with us in case we needed an antibiotic. And if you take any medicine on a regular basis, you must bring it with you, as you are unlikely to find it locally in Tanzania.
