A car rental is a better option. private drivers are expensive. The road infrastructure is developed and sign posted so hire a Garmin and consult the Web for sightseeing option and drive there...take care by Google which are safe areas and stay away from no go areas like deep into townships. Remember you intl drivers license before u arrived.

The roads are developed so why don't you consider a rental and get yourself a Garmin for directions as this will be a much cheaper options. Google the no go areas and stick to freeways and highways. A private Driver is expensive if you intend going to all the site seeing places.

Good day to you

My review here refer to a restaurant in the city of Dar es Salaam in the Republic of Tanzania and it is about 3500Km away from the town of Capetown that is in the western tip of the Republic of South Africa.

please ask your question in the right place (i.e: Capetown South Africa)

As there were 2 of us, we often took the tuk-tuks for travel. However, when we were going longer distances, we asked the hotel concierge/guest services manager to arrange a driver. They have "vetted" them and also then know you are under the "responsibility" of the driver. An example, we paid USD $40 from the Ramada Resort, Jangwani Beach (quite a bit farther out than Cape Town Fish Market) to the airport. It also took almost 3 hours in the middle of the day!
