we will be DC next month and try to go Georgetown, is taking a uber better than driving? Thank you.
We used Uber for the first time in DC and I have to say, we were impressed. The longest we waited for a car was 4 minutes! The drivers were polite and pleasant and their cars were clean and fresh smelling. We thought it was a great way to travel in the city. No worrying about finding parking.
I am visiting from the UK and used UBER tonight on arrival at Union Station to Georgetown. It's a must. I used it all over New York and Boston too. Cost me $13 to do 7.5 miles.
We didn't have a car and used the metro which was easy to use and Lyft. Traffic was terrible. I wouldn't drive. I don't recall seeing parking so not even sure that situation. But Georgetown was cool. We walked around and ate at tony and joes seafood on the water overlooking Kennedy center. One of our best meals in town. Enjoy
Parking is tight and if you pay it is expensive' Uber might be a better bet.
I drove into DC parked at Union station, any and all transportation that you might need is right there, including all the site seeing tours
Yes uber is easier than driving as no parking and cheaper than taxi
If you don't have the Uber app, get it and use Uber! They are all over the place and you can usually get a ride in less then 5 minutes for very little money. The drivers we've experienced were practically like your neighbor-very friendly and safe drivers and will talk if you want or play the music you like. Highly recommend Uber.
