Hideaways at Palm Bay Questions & Answers

Detroit, Michigan

I understand that in addition to the cost of the room there is a very hefty resort fee. That amounts to doubling the cost of the room ? Seriously, never seen a place that charges a resort fee that isn't all inclusive with all meals and drinks.....What do you get for the resort fee? Food? Water ? Excursions? activities?

"Clean water to drink and cook with"

Is the water coming out of the tap filtered water or do you have to buy all the water you drink and cook with in town? Are there plenty lounge chairs that allow you to lay completely flat for sunning?

Pictures say they have food on the resort, what kind of food is it? Bar food, burgers fries etc.... ????

Hello Chloe,

The Online Travel Agents (OTA's) such as Expedia, and Hotels online will not collect any fees from hotels therefore, they have to be collected upon check-in. If you book direct with the hotel they are included in the total rate. The fees do not double the cost of the room per night. They are $ 54.83 per night at check-in if you book through an OTA. If you have a moment check out our website for rates that are inclusive of tax and fees.

Included in the Fees are the following:

* Continental Breakfast Daily

* Shuttle Bus Service to and from Georgetown daily

* Pre-Arrival Concierge Service

* Kayaks

* Paddle Boats

* Row Boats

* Stand Up Paddle Boards

* Beach Towel Service

* Wireless Internet

* Fitness Room

* Complimentary Computers in the Lobby with internet access

The tap water here in Exuma is fine to drink, however it does have a chlorinated taste, so we recommend bottled water. 1 gallon jugs of water can be purchased for $ 5.00 and can be refilled at the restaurant for $ 3.50. Cooking and making coffee with the tap water is fine.

There are several lounge chairs around the swimming pool. More than enough to accommodate every guest visiting. No need to place towels or items to reserve one, there are always plenty available.

The restaurant on property "Splash Beach Bar & Grill" Offers a variety of menu items from local cuisine, salads, wraps, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, etc in a casual atmosphere. The menu is also available on our website under the Splash Beach Bar & Grill's tab.

Happy to answer any additional questions. You are welcome to contact us directly any time.

Ok...here’s the skinny on the taxes and fees (just under 40% of your hotel price)...TOURIST LEVY $20/ROOM/NIGHT + $35 RESORT FEE PER ROOM PER NIGHT + $16 RESORT FEE PER NIGHT + VALUE ADDED TAX 7.5%...WOW!!!

Enough? This is rather new for us as we have been coming here for years...but....really?

The hideaway is a little run down and the service is subpar. It's definitely a cute, clean beach and the water is sooo clear! Always a beach or pool chair available. Pool/beach guy is super helpful. Trying to get a beach towel is a problem. On more than three occasions I was told the towels are "In the wash". That was annoying. You would think they'd have enough towels for the guests. Also upon check in they give you little White tickets for the continental breakfast. They shorted us two tickets so please count them before you leave the counter. Also please please know that a TWO BEDROOM MEANS A PuLLOUT COUCH with a bar running across your back at night. Last but not least, the food in Exuma is super duper expensive. No, really, it's like double NYC prices because they have a VAT tax. So be prepared to spend but I'll tell you that We are HOOKeD on Exuma! Just beautiful and seems safe! We're gonna save more and go to Sandals all inclusive next time! We like luxury and great food!

The kitchen sinks have their own filter so it's safe to drink!

They have burgers, chicken/ fish sandwiches, pizza, sauceless pizza/ flatbreads. One think that was really good was the pizza bread. It was so good
