I’m travelling with my husband and 3yr old in abt 3 weeks .... can I take the Gatwick express which will be faster to get to the city than a cab ? We will be carrying 4pcs luggage with stroller ?
Any advise pls?
When I travel alone for business, I use the Gatwick express and I only have a carry-on bag. When I travel with family (4 of us) with multiple bags I find it more convenient and even cheaper (Gatwick express for 4 is not cheap) to pre-book a vehicle to take us direct to the London Hotel. The time saving is marginal by using the Gatwick Express and highly dependent on where in London is your final destination.
Once you come out of customs, providing you are in the south terminal, it is pretty easy. The issue would be if you are in the north terminal as you will have to change terminals to catch the train.
It will be much quicker by train than cab, however, once you get to Victoria consider how you will then go to your hotel. Probably need to get a cab from the station. There will likely be a queue. The trains will cost you about a third of a cab fare all the way. If it was me I would book someone to pick me up at the airport and not bother dragging all that luggage on the train.
Yes for get the taxi the train is super!!!
There is plenty of room on the train for luggage. I assume the three year old would be free.
Suggestions above all have merit. The train is quicker whoever it then depends on where you are going in London when evaluation total time and cost.
Enjoy the trip
