Yes, I opened the window in June. I hope you'll enjoy your stay as much I this summer.

Only a tiny bit for us as we were on the ground floor. It was hot in the room at night - luckily we were out in the day!

Windows can be opened only few centimeters because of safety reasons; that's what they told me.

Yes I would think so. There was only one window we had trouble with but I guess it depends on which room you stay in.

4 th floor window overlooking the park and it could open about a foot and it allowed the air to circulate the small room.

My room on the third floor had a sash window that could only be raised about 20 cm or so. I suspect it's for security reasons. I stayed there in May, and the room did get rather warm and stuffy at times; I would have liked to have been able to open the window more. But it wasn't intolerable. In December you'd probably not want a wide open window anyway.
