Hi

January is known as "green season" as finally after some rains falling the bush regenerates and everything buds, blossoms and blooms. It is not the best time of the year for large game viewing due to this fact. The bush is incredibly dense and it becomes more challenging to spot the game. This being said however, our guides are just simply the best at tracking and are able to find sometimes the most elusive of creatures.

If you are a keen birder however, you could not come at a better time of year. Birding in the green season is epic. There is an overlap of biomes in this region and so we are treated to a large variety of species of birds. Due to the drought we may experience better game viewing in the region in the green season but this cannot be guaranteed. There is also an amazing array of insects, moths and butterflies during this time of year.

The heat can be stifling at times as rain brings the humidity.

Take care ans warmest regards,

We saw little game but that was in July - Lots of elephants and hippo in the water. Look for Thobolo's Bush Camp the owner lives in that area and will tell you all you need to know he has INCREDIBLE game at his camp
