Me and so many people got stung this year, I unfortunately sat by the lifeguards and they were so busy spraying what looked like diluted vinaigrette, they even sell a sun cream in the local chemist now with jellyfish repellent, it was a heatwave while we were there maybe this brought them out more, we did snorkel out but soon came back as they were swarming out there, ended up at our pool in the end!,,
Sadly, yes, people are experiencing jellyfish stings, we saw five people just yesterday afternoon at the beach area south of the marina, and I was stung a few days before. Must be small as we haven't seen them. Nice young woman in pharmacy sold us hydrocortisone cream, which did the trick, but it was clear from her reaction that she's seen this before. We've been here before and never seen this, too bad, it's otherwise a great beach. No warning signs up.
Quite a lot of jelly fish over the past few days. All very small so the sting is no worse than a wasp.
We didn’t see any however husband got stung on the beach at Cala de Boquer. He was a bit shocked but ok!
we were there last September and we didn't see any
I was there in October and only saw a few
Sometimes during May/June. There are warning signs if they’re in the bay.
I was there in July and certainly didn’t see any.
We saw a few small ones last July.
Not that we aware of. We certainly never saw any
We didn't see any last summer, in Puerto pollensa or other beaches in the area
Never in over 20+ years of sitting on the beach in port de pollenca have I ever seen a jelly fish, probably because it's in a bay, hope that helps
I was there last summer and didn't see a single one but I did see loads in the sea at Formentor. I'm not sure if it's a tide thing but I've not seen any other reviews which say there are jellyfish.
Personally I loved Porta Pollenca. It's not a cheap town to eat out in compared with other places in Spain but the beach is great for kids and the tide doesn't go in or out much meaning you can set up really close to the water's edge and keep an eye on the children.
