Our family of four (two teen daughters) are heading out to South Africa in one month. We will be at Simbavati for four days mid- March 2018. Does anyone have tips in terms of how best to make use of our time there (including downtime between game drives), attire for meals, and what animals we might see that time of the year? I am trying to manage expectations as I know its not a zoo and it's not the great migration in Tanzania...
We are wondering if the alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced for an afternoon at the pool or after dinner at the bar.
I am planning a trip in September i hear room 7 & 8 were the best . Does that mean that they are at the top? Are they close to the restaurant and bar are?
I have just been contacted about some work going on on the Dam very close to the lodge, was this an impact on your holiday?
Was it noisy?
Hi there - we are thinking of trying Simbavati Hilltop Lodge for 4 nights as part 1 to our honeymoon. There are several complaints about the average food and the lack of ranger experience. We stayed at Motswari before and was totally blown away by the experience but sadly there is no availability for our honeymoon period. Willing to give another place a try however we do not want to be disappointed. Is Simbavati worth it?
