Boarding was slick and well organised. The service of the staff is second to none and the fact that many are long standing employees is testament to the pride they feel at being associated and this cruise line. Staterooms are serviced twice daily and to a high standard. We are on the Premier package which includes amongst other things drinks to the value of 20 dollars each and 2 speciality dining meals. Our wedding anniversary led us on choose The Crown Grill and the staff looked after us really well. Food is good throughout the ship and it's no problem at all to have items delivered on your stateroom. The itinerary was adhered to and there are only about 3 at sea days as port stops are plentiful. Entertainment is brilliant and the daily wake show giving highlights and information is excellent. Can strongly recommend and think that the cruise has set the bar high for us in terms of quality service and value.

We really enjoyed this 12 night cruise of U.K. and Ireland . The ship is lovely with big lounges and good variety of dining areas .We ate in the allegro restaurant on some days and in Horizon buffet on other days. The variety of food was excellent and in particular amazing pizzas and curries . The crew and entertainments team are fantastic everyone smiles and seem really happy in their jobs .The ports of call were really good we particularly enjoyed Belfast, Holyhead for Beaumaris and Greenock for Loch Lomond. The weather turned bad near the Orkney Islsnds so we were unable to stop there and due to a strike in Le Havre we docked at Portland for Weymouth for a pleasant day at the seaside a nice way to end this fab cruise

All in all a superior experience compared to P&O (even though they are owned by the same company). Embarkation - quick and efficient, no more than 30 minutes from arriving at the terminal to walking on to the ship. Cabin - balcony state room generally comfortable and in good condition with working aircon. A bit of mould on the silicone around the bottom of the shower tray was disappointing, I mean it's not a difficult problem to fix. Balcony very narrow indeed. Great steward. Ship Environment - the Regal Princess is 10 years old and was smart and well kempt, superior to the Azura and Ventura in the P&O fleet. Glitzy public areas, large casino, big theatre with adequate seating, smart bars. Several shops but oddly nowhere to buy travel essentials, toiletries, pharmacy items, electronics, etc. Several jacuzzi and pools. Food - we enjoyed the menu and the food in the main dining room but it was disorganised because of the 'eat when you want' system. This means that reserving a table didn't ensure that a table was actually available. Much better to use the two-sittings system with everyone eating at the same time in the main dining rooms. Save the flexible dining options for the specialty dining areas. Buffet food was underwhelming, nearly all of it was luke warm and unappetising. Lido deck pizzeria and burger joint were superb. Room service offered a good menu and was efficient and well run. Entertainment - hit and miss. I loved the magician, the hypnotist, Nate Simpson and Peter Howarth of the Hollies. Some of the other visiting acts were odd choices for a cruise, I mean an opera singer really? The production shows were not to my taste but they were well done. The cruise director was excellent. Shore excursions - Princess excursions were incredibly over-priced so we only did one. Extremely disappointed that the ship wasn't able to dock in the Orkneys 'due to the wind' - it was a foggy day so I don't see how it can be both windy and foggy but that's what we were told. A massive disappointment as this was set to be one of the high points of the cruise. Staff- truly excellent with a real focus on friendliness and a strong culture of customer service.

Stay away. Our first cruise ended in a nightmare. Never again. Inability to attach gangways caused a missed flight. Provided documentation of out of pocket expenses which they indicated would take 6-8 weeks to settle. 5 months later we were virtually ignored. Customer service is a sham. They refuse to give info for their head office or persons in charge.

The standout memory of this cruise is how awful the food was. I can honestly say, this was the worst of any cruise I have ever taken. The menus in the main dining room have changed to the point that we had days we couldnt find anything we wanted fo eat. No complimentary steak or lobster on any night (7 day cruise). Food in MDR was all bad. We often left half of the entree and desserts because they were so awful and left still hungry. The buffet was slightly better. Only slightly. The cruise line provided a menu of the buffet in the state room. They did not adhere to it. Pretty much 85-90 percent of the buffet was the same every day. Thankfully, there were more options than the MDR, but think cafeteria food. Not great at all. The service in the buffet was hit or miss. We were asked if we wanted drinks about 30 percent of the time. I ordered a gluten free pizza that was one of the worst things I have ever tried. Tiny, no sauce, over cooked shell of mystery crust with almost no cheese or toppings. Crew member seemed irritated when I asked for it and said "20 minutes". Not sure why it took 25 minutes to make this smaller than a salad plate "pizza". Yuck. The shows weren't great. We walked out fo 2 of them. The 2 stars is for our amazing cabin steward. Our room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the movies in the room. We were surprised at the differences between this cruise and the one we took a few months before on Royal Princess. We really enjoyed both the food and entertainment on that ship. If you are a foodie, you will be very disappointed in Regal Princess. Again, this ship wins WORST food on any cruise! We have cruised extensively on many lines, including MSC. Again, this was the worst.
