We visited 5 countries in 10 days which was great. The bed and pillows were lumpy. There is no turn down service and no ice buckets provided. The excursions were mixed but none of the buses had a bathroom! The food quality has really deteriorated. The same can be said for the variety of foods. Why serve fruit cake and Indian food? The service was mixed. Disembarking was very smooth.

We took a 7 night cruise from Citavecchia to Trieste in a club balcony suite on deck 10. We were very pleased with our cabin. It was midship in a quiet location. The embarkation was speedy. The cruise began in Barcelona so there was no delay in going to your stateroom once on board. We enjoyed our specialty dining at Cagney’s and Bayamo. We also enjoyed the main dining rooms, particularly the Manhattan Room where we dined twice. The Choir of Man show was spectacular. The Escape is a large ship with around 4000 guests. You must realize that and plan accordingly. We were always able to find quiet spots in the evenings. We enjoyed walking around the Waterfront on deck 8 late in the evening. We took Norwegian shore excursions on each port day. We were satisfied with all of them. What a treat to be able to visit ports in Italy, Greece, and Croatia in the course of a week without ever packing and unpacking! Our last cruise was on the Breakaway in 2022, and we did notice some differences. Your cabin steward only services you once per day. There is a $4.95 charge for room service breakfast each day. We found the cruise staff very friendly and accommodating; they were always smiling! Disembarkation was very simple also. Norwegian transported us to a Venice hotel. We had to be out of our stateroom at 8:30 and left the ship at 9:10. All in all it was a wonderful trip. Combined with a pre cruise stay in Rome and post cruise in Venice, this was truly the trip of a lifetime!

Mixed feelings. It was my first time ever going on a cruise, and I did not know what to expect. On the second night, I sat down with my husband (we are a gay couple), and a mother and daughter asked if we were brothers. They asked if we believe in God, and that we could end up in hell. This put me on my back foot and made me a bit wary of how the rest of the trip would go. Some of the passengers treated my husband and I quite rudely when they discovered we were British. They would simply ask us where we were from, when finding out they would then just blank us; however, we encountered some lovely individuals and couples, so it wasn't all bad. On our second night in Manhattan, a Thai waitress named Thani ta Sangkhanimits served us. I am optimistic that this is the manner in which she recorded her name for me, as I seek to avoid causing offence. She was an amazing and attentive server, going above and beyond to ensure everyone in her section, including ourselves, had an amazing time and received proper care. Many other servers could learn from her example, which brings me to my next point: my husband and I paid for our meal at Cagney's and were shocked by the poor quality of service. The steaks arrived first, followed by two of our sides (broccoli and mushrooms) 20 minutes later. The fries didn't arrive until we were about to leave the table, which prompted me to lodge a complaint. I hate complaining, but this holiday has cost us a fortune, plus the fortune we spent while on the holiday. You expect top-notch service. Improve your staff's training, prioritize customer service, and ensure equal treatment for all customers worldwide. No staff or passenger should tolerate discrimination or give out descrimination , as everyone is paying for the same service. If the goal is to portray American passengers as superior to those of other passengers, perhaps you should refrain from promoting NCL globally. Instead, should focus on promoting NCL within the confines of America but until then you should also providing entertainment that appeals to all. However, the only entertainment that resonated universally and was not exclusive to Americans was the choir of man, whose performance was truly remarkable. Some of the other entertainment, such as the karaoke session for adults, could benefit from enhancements, such as extending its duration, starting earlier, and continuing later. While some excursions excelled, others felt hurried and didn't adhere to the ticket's advertised details. In Split, the off-track train necessitated a walk of more than an hour to reach the train, causing unnecessary problems for some passengers with mobility issues who would not have booked if they had known. Sorry for the long-winded review. I did enjoy some parts a lot more than others.

The best part of the cruise was the itinerary and that's why we chose it. 11 days and 11 ports, can't beat that. Norwegian is the least customer centric of all the cruise lines we've experienced. The customer service pre cruise provided inaccurate information. Boarding the ship was chaotic and no information was provided. Multiple errors were made on our first day, so much so that the GM of the ship did his best to make things right. On some days the food was very good, other days, very average. The staff didn't appear to be as happy as other ships we cruised on. The staff can really add to the cruise experience. We were disappointed with the quality of entertainment. This being a large ship, we thought the entertainment would be top notch. That was not the case. The balcony room was fine, but smaller in room and outer balcony than other ships we cruised. Finally, disembarkation was as disorganized as boarding. People were angry, cutting lines etc. If the itinerary wasn't so good, I'd have rated this 2 stars. There are other cruise lines that care for their customer much more so than NCL.

Wow where do I start... totally full ship.... lots of kids.. too many for me. Food was sub par, speciality restaurants are a joke. And if you like to be nickle and dimed this is the cruise line for you. We had 2 speciality restaurants booked.. Cagneys and La Cucucina, Cagneys both my wifes Beef Tenderloin was overcooked and my 16 oz Ribeye, was overcooked and chewy. come on, you cant cook a steak, nothing special like on a Celebrity ship, La Cucina was even worse.. the pasta I had was way overcooked.. my wife tried a steak and it was overcooked.. this time sent back..it was her birthday and I booked directly with Norweign and they said they would do something at the specialty restaurant for her.. we've been home a week and Im still waiting. O'Sheehans... so disappointed in the wings.. I was hoping it would be crispy skin... NOPE. The Manhattan, Savour and Taste have the same menu every night.. so if you dont like the menu, it's off to the buffet, where watch out or you will be run over.. rude people cutting in front as you are getting food.. only half the buffet is open at night.. no nice cakes out like Celebrity. just individual portions. Food was mediocre at best, so disappointed. Water is NOT included in beverage package and we had to BUY for our room. You already prepay gratuties so a lot of staff are blah. There are exceptions and we encountered a few, but expect anything except clean towels and bed made for your room, no turndown at night. We thought we would try NCL as we liked their intineray.. but Celebrity treats way better.. doesn't cost as much.. better food choices, outstanding specialty restaurants. I would say NO to NCL.... One and DONE.
