The ship was very crowded and nearly everywhere smelt of smoke. People were smoking on their balconies, cafes and very rarely in the smoking sections were are clearly marked. The food was basic and bearly passable. We were charged for a photograph we never asked for, and after at least an hour of trying to get it sorted they finally took it off the bill, only to find out at the end of the cruise that they had put it back on. It was very hard to get a sun lounger most of the time. I think the service offered was poor, and my wife who had been waiting to be served at the cafe for around 10 minutes was passed over so that crew members could be served. The trips ashore were badly organised and waiting times to get off the ship were long and arduous. All in all a very poor cruise.

This was our first cruise but won't be our last! MSC were amazing. We were so happy with our room, it was very clean and the balcony was lovely to have. To wake up every morning to a new location is something vert special!

The ship is huge. Embarking at the start of the cruise in Barcelona was a bit chaotic but once on board we settled into our cabin with a window/porthole which was very comfortable and quiet. There is a fantastic array of bars and restaurants on this ship. We took the all inclusive drinks option and were glad we didn’t have to worry about settling bills at the end of the cruise. Breakfast in the buffet restaurant was a bit of a bun fight - there were so many people. There was plenty of choice in the buffet restaurant but we ended up going for dinner in the separate waiter service restaurants which were included in our package. The ship is huge. The website advertises speciality nights of dressing up etc but most of the passengers didn’t bother. Any advertised dress code is not enforced on this ship. There are numerous excursions to go on or you can just stay on the ship. We were on the Med cruise which arrived at a different port every morning. Embarking and disembarking can be a bit of a wait as the crew have to carry out security checks every time you board the ship. We found all the staff to be helpful especially the cleaners who were always pleasant. The disembarkation at the end of our trip went extremely smoothly which surprised us bearing in mind the number of people who were leaving. All in all we had a great trip as part of a family group. The children also enjoyed themselves. Any future cruise would be on a smaller ship in a more relaxed atmosphere.

After an uneventful flight to Barcelona, we travelled by taxi to the ship. We always go for the Yacht Club (YC) experience with MSC and as such, expected (as before) for a smooth embarkation amongst the many thousands doing the same thing. However, on this occasion, not so with one poor young lady, on her own, trying to deal with too many people at the same time. We eventually boarded and were shown to our cabin (18005). This relatively new ship has bigger cabins and, consequently, a bigger balcony than those on Preziosa and Fantasia we had travelled on before. Big tick. Furthermore, all YC amenities are fully contained within this segregated area to now include its own Restaurant. So, from Barcelona, we made for Corsica, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Majorca & Valencia. Strangely, our stop at Malaga was cancelled as “some maintenance at reduced speed was required!” We had been many times before so the €100 per cabin credit was welcome. Then on to Tenerife, 5 days at sea to San Salvador, Ilheus, Rio and disembarkation at Santos for our 12 hour redeye. THE SHIP - MSC SEAVIEW. Our 3rd. MSC Yacht Club Cruise, this time on board Seaview. We love Yacht Club and all it provides. Seaview has so much better entertainment; an integrated restaurant, bigger suites and balconies and a superior upper sun deck. In fact, we couldn’t fault it. Neither could we fault the lovely people who looked after us. We have to acknowledge those that particularly made it special. Joao and Emmanuel on the Concierge desk. Welshroy (Top Sail Bartender). Hector & Richard (Butlers). Hendrick (Wine Bar). Maira (Top Sail lounge). Micheline (Butcher’s Cut restaurant). Dita (Her first contract - Top Sail Lounge). We must very much not forget two gentlemen who look after these good people. Kamil (Head Butler) - great job sir. Finally, our Yacht Club Director, Alessandro. Your team are a credit to you and they are very fortunate to have you as they continuously met your exacting standards - thank you. Would we go MSC again - oh, yes but it would have to be Yacht Club. It’s why we have booked 2 more cruises on Seaview. Having experienced P&O, NCL, Celebrity (we do like the latter) etc. we believe MSC Yacht Club provides a special experience the others don’t quite manage. Check it out - you won’t be disappointed.

We took the last Med cruise before Seaview was relocating to Brazil. We stayed in Yacht Club, which is always amazing. However on this ship we ventured outside of Yacht Club most evenings to watch the fantastic entertainment. We cannot wait to cruise again on her this coming November.
