Just arrived back in Marmaris from a week on this ship. We didn’t have many issues apart from main restaurant not very good for breakfast or dinner. Drinks by pool served in plastic cups as people do walk about barefooted so makes sense for plastic cups. We had junior suite very spacious and always keep clean by Ram and his team. Entertainment all over ship excellent we watched a Peter Kay tribute act really funny man absolute gentleman and gave every person a minute who wanted a chat. The drinks on board if you paid for Premium were top class all in all had a great time with our friends.

Avoid cabins on deck 8. The noise from scraping furniture on deck 9 is unbearable. Simple felt or rubber pads on table and chair legs would help Tui!!! The suites are lovely but ruined by noise from 6am till 1am.

Noisy on a morning and night entertainment excellent but word of advice we had a adapted room underneath the pool deck so noisy constant scraping of chairs and also when the party's were on loud music I know we are on holiday bit some nights you just want to chill in your cabin on a night and have a lie in but enjoyed the cruise

Having been on the Marella Explorer and Explorer 2 and loving them - I was so excited for this cruise - my disappointment came as soon as we arrived on the ship - I absolutely hated the ship!!! You cannot help the clientele but it was just full of boozed up rude people with no care or consideration for others and I have to say it wasn’t the younger generation. Don’t get me started on the mysterious gold party that had part of the ships cordoned off for their enjoyment (TUI we should get a refund for part of the ship not being available) their behaviour was dreadful too actually drunkenly insulting my elderly mum in a lift!!! What is with plastic tumblers for wine I paid premium I want my wine in a wine glass even if it is plastic!!! It was just so below par compared to the other ships. I will go with marella again but not in this ship- it wasn’t my cup of tea - if you want constant partying and music 24/7 this is your ship - there were no quiet areas like on the other ships!! However after all my moaning the holiday was great, the staff were beyond amazing although seemed stretched in the bars and restaurants. Bar eleven was our saviour the staff were so amazing especially Panveer/ it became our little oasis of happiness. On the plus side -drinks good lack of variety than the other ships but the food I think was better and service in the dining room. Come on Marella sort the glasses situation out, have a quiet drinking area and refund a little reimbursement for the guests that had to deal with the gold group!!!

We travelled with three other couples ,all in our late sixties,on this cruise which sailed out of Marmaris in Turkey. We have travelled with Tui on numerous occasions because of the great value for money and the friendliness of all the staff. We had a lovely outside balcony cabin which was spacious and kept spotlessly clean by the cabin staff. Overall, the staff were excellent and could not do enough for you. However, we did find that there were less bar staff and waiters than previously and this resulted in quite large queues in the bars and particularly at the pool deck. We ate in the main restaurant in the evenings and took breakfast in the buffet restaurant on Deck 9. We were always allotted a table for eight in the evenings which was very good. The quality of the food was very good in both areas with plenty of variety on offer. We did wait for quite long to finish our evening meals. It took two hours to finish three courses, a little longer than previously. Is this due to less staff we wondered? The quality of the drinks was OK but the compulsory plastic glasses outside although understandable took away from the overall taste and flavour. The ship facilities were good, even though the vessel is almost thirty years old. There are countless bars and some speciality restaurants which incur an extra supplement. We did not use these but common opinion was they were very good ‘value. The entertainment staff were superb. They were hard working and very professional. Entertainment was varied and consisted of daytime quizzes ,competitions and lots of artistes appearing at different times in the different bars on the ship. Each night there was a performance in the Main Concert Hall by the resident show team all of which were excellent and well received. The ports of call were Marmaris (Turkey),day at sea, Limassol (Cyprus), Alanya(Turkey),Rhodes (Greece), Bodrum (Turkey) and Heraklion (Greece). We did not take any of the Marella excursions on offer preferring to walk ashore and explore the area ourselves. All of the above ports were interesting and with the exception of Heraklion were in easy walking distance. The ship did provide a free shuttle bus the port gates and from there a 10 € taxi ride got us to the town centre. Of all the countries Turkey was by far the most expensive. I could not believe how much the prices had risen since our last visit some four years ago. We were caught by one bar in Alanya where we were charged 9€ for half of beer ! Prices were different from the menu! The waiter and then the owner went into a massive rage and asked our party to leave! Avoid the 1st Bar in Alanya! I think you should check prices in bars, particularly in Turkey, before ordering. Overall, the cruise with Marella was a success and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A word to Marella is to avoid making staff cuts as they detract from the experience.
