My boyfriend and I booked a Caribbean cruise, we’d wanted to go a lovely holiday while we were young (20&22) - a once in a lifetime probably for us - We fully understand that there is a lot going on in the world right now and our canceled holiday doesn’t even take a dent out of the bad things to happen this year but my main issue is that P&O are offering the extra 25%. This is added on to what was your original cruise price when rebooking for the inconvenience, a lovely gift for all of their passengers right? We were excited to hear that we were going to be able to go next year and we would maybe even be able to get a better room because the cruise that we still payed for during a pandemic has sadly been canceled but they were giving out this amazing gesture! We certainly didn’t want to miss out on the holiday nor what seemed like a once in a lifetime upgrade so hearing this news made all the pain of this year seem to ease just slightly - this money would have added on just over £800 between us for us to use at our discretion and considering the only ship sailing at the same time next year would cost an extra £450 it would have been a great help to allow us to move our dates. However P&O have failed to mention the part where they stopped processing payments due to the uncertainty meaning that 25% is useless and only valid on the deposit! That £800 i was just telling you about has now turned into £40...like i said we perfectly understand this year has been like no other, both my partner and I are key workers and with me being a carer i’ve worked through the entire pandemic. None of my issues are going to come close to those of a lot of people this year but i’m sure my frustration is understandable. P&O are waving the big WE LOVE OUR CUSTOMERS flag acting as tho this 25% is the best thing since sliced bread and for those of you who qualified for it i’m so happy for you and i’m glad you are all getting this as like i said for us hearing this it made our year that slight bit better, i imagine you are over the moon as we would have been but sadly it’s just not what was in the cards for us. After speaking to a P&O representative on the phone (an extremely rude woman) we’ve been informed that it’s just not P&O’s problem so instead we will be taking all of our money back and booking a lovely holiday through a different company, don’t get my wrong £3000 is probably nothing for them to loose out on and if it is they surely haven’t acted like it.

My friend and I had a wonderful cruise. We were on the Azura. Wonderful ship wonderful staff wonderful food. We were pin Australia deck in a balcony cabin. Ideal for us . Although we have been friends for years weren't used to sharing. Cabin was ideal. We could have privacy if we wanted. Our steward Lourdes was just the best. Nothing ever was a bother to her. We got on with her so well. First time either of us had done something like this since being widowed. Was just ideal. The food was do good. Loved the islands we visited. 9 in all and the weather just perfect. Itcwas a great experience and hopefully we will be able to do it again sometime. 100percent ideal holiday. Entertainment excellent too.

This was our first ever cruise, we had heard so many good things from friends, so decided to try it. Usually we do our own thing and literally live out of a suitcase when travelling. It was nice to be able to unpack and treat the ship as a travelling Hotel. The highlights for us were being able to get off whenever the ship docked. I am sure that the entertainment on board was fabulous as so many people flocked to the events held, however not to our taste and definitely catering to their demographic customer base. Very British, even down to the food served, which was faultless by the way. Crew amazing and a big shout out to Noemi, Gerald and Estrella on drinks service, they kept me topped up very nicely when on board and remembered my favourite tipple ( white wine) and my name. Very professional. Santance, our cabin steward was exceptional. Thank you so much! Rita on reception, what can l say? An absolute gem who had to tolerate the vagaries of the hubby without breaking down in laughter!!! You were simply amazing. Last but not least, Captain Neil Turnbull, approachable, friendly and hilarious, to the man from Derbyshire whose specialist subjects are Derbyshire and children, we salute you. Morning bulletins were so funny. Would we take another cruise, only to get to places that would be difficult to get to otherwise, so l guess the answer is yes. The Oasis pool is where we tended to hang out during at sea days, only one change to the schedule, instead of our first port of call being St. Vincent we ended up in Martinique. A few problems with St. Lucia due to the Covid 19 fears but we were finally allowed to disembark. Kept fully informed of the developing situation.

We were on board for a week when the virus reached the Caribbean. Our Captain was amazing. He kept us fully informed sometimes three times a day as the situation deteriorated. Islands stopped allowing us to dock, accidents happened on board, and still everything on board was kept running smoothly. Many of the staff had families across the world and were very worried about them yet continued to serve with us grace. I have to say a huge thank you to all the crew for their wonderful service. The captain with support from his company even managed to get us home with very little fuss at the airport. (there were 24000 people trying to get home). Our ship was kept scrupulously clean 24/7 throughout the two weeks we were on board. One of our dinner companions took I’ll (not the virus) but for safety’s sake we were all confined to our cabins till tests confirmed this. The medical team were brilliant looking after us all. Meals etc delivered to our cabins whenever requested, without charge. We were so impressed by the whole experience we’ve booked again for when things improve regarding CV19. Thank you Captain.
