It's promoting the navy, I guess it should only be free. Anyway, after an obligatory introductory spiel - but delivered by a military man so it's short and to the point - you can see the big hanger full of historic aircraft and stories. It's great.

Great little zoo. Kids loved being up close to the lions. We stopped in as we had a few hours to fill in. Wombats were a family favourite too.

Wow, in area for short break and have to say this is the best fresh food place I have been to. It is like the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It has everything you could possibly imagine. Wish I could take it all back to where we live😊

We arrived an hour early for our Noon appointment for a tour of Meroogal but they were happy to accommodate us. Meroogal was an 1880s “Carpenter Gothic” house occupied by 4 generations of women – their belongings still there. It was very pretty and a nice start to our tour. The guide was very good and the house was interesting. I must admit I left the tour early as I prefer to self tour. The house was stunningly attractive and unique for a heritage property. Well worth visiting. The gardens are gorgeous. By the by it was free but you must book online.

Great stretch of the Shoalhaven River and Nowra Creek right next to town yet a long way from the cars and noise. Quite beautiful with convenient access points above and below the cliffs.

Went to the venue for a work event. Looks like they get some good acts there but the highlight of the day was the lunch at the coffee shop. Fresh salads. delicious quiche, yummy bread rolls, soup and a variety of cakes. Apparently all prepared on the premises.Friendly, helpful staff. I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on that. The tea was served in a pot with tea leaves not a tea bag.

Maps, updated books and food maps readily available. Prompt assistance and friendly service. Sometimes it helps to have a paper map rather than navigate on a screen 🙂

In the showground area, Hanging Rock (which is an actual precarious ledge) offers a great view from above the river and connects to the great Ben's Walk.

Come from the corner and you'll think it's closed due to all the rubbish and the closed up door, but that's because screaming homeless are camped on the porch and the actual entrance is at the back. Inside has a few interesting rooms with a lot on how much of old Nowra has been demolished, surprising how rich it was back then.
