What travellers are saying
- PietroDallaviaCumbria, UK247 contributionsExcellent experience [since it wasn't raining]. We walked from the Oldest Tea Bush to the Cave through the walkways and avoided the bus routing. The only disappointment was that the cave wasn't a cave, something must have got lost in the translation. Also recommend highly the Sound and Light show in the evening, which was the best I have ever seen. We also went on the rafts down the river which was most enjoyable.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ladakhedShanghai, China26 contributionsVery similar in quality of scenery to going for a trip on the Li river from Yangshuo in Guangxi. Mountains and scenery are more craggy and impressive. The stream as clearly been altered to allow the bamboo raft to traverse it safely without crazy splash, that did not spoil the ride. It took about an hour and a half, with two poling men taking us along silently.
Really liked it, and high recommended, even in winter.Written 29 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The ride itself is nothing special but the views are nice. Try to go early or late so there are fewer other boats on the water with you.Written 16 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eyad DBeijing, China53 contributionsThe climb to the peak is pretty steep and there are 340 steps. The view from the top is just ok, but the climb down the mountain, past the large carved GuanYin is nice. If you're into views you should just climb TianYouFeng twice and skip this one.Written 16 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ROCruiserClaremont, CA4 655 contributionsWe only hiked half way to the pavilion and saw a lady in trouble. She had fainted and needed help and was brought back down after her companions called for help. The rangers had to carry her down in stretchers. We knew there was no way we could get to the top and then back down so we turned around after checking out the beautiful scenery at the pavilion. Absolutely breathtaking views all around.Written 13 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- ladakhedShanghai, China26 contributionsThe original Dahongpao bushes that I had been reading about were a bit anticlimactic, but the walk was pleasant, and not too taxing. Not impressed at how strict the end of the included bus schedule was though. You really have to give yourself time to get to the final bus, which is hard to judge since it is your first time there. We had to get a long public bus back to town.Written 29 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FYL003Chicago, IL1 088 contributionsThere is no public transportation. The only way to get there is either by joining a group tour to Wuyishan resort area which includes this national forest park, or hire a taxi. We took a taxi, the taxi drivers at Wuyishan do not use meter even we asked them to do so. It seems like the norm here. We negotiated for a round trip fare including waiting time.
The journey took about an hour from Wuyishan resort area.
We saw tea plantations along the way and had the opportunity to stop and took photos. As we approached the park area, the scenery changed with lots of dense vegetations. The air was refreshing, the temperature was cooler. There were scenic stops and recreation stops. We went straight to the Qing Long water fall, paid our admission for 80 RMB per person. The admission included a tram ride to the top of the mountain. After getting off, we took the stairway down to the viewing platform. We took a few photos, and climbed the stairs which was quite a way up to catch the tram back.
Overall, it was a good experience to be in a national forest park away from the hoards of tourists. As I understand, this place could be very congested during peak tourist season.
By the way, our taxi fare was 200RMB which included a trip to Xiamei village.Written 21 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's very near the remains of the the Min yue city and museum. And there are a few sights in English. The is a map and sign in English as you park in the car park near the temple. However the restaurant has closed and the open houses seem to be half closed. Even so you can walk round the streets and what a feel for this Ming/Qing village, whether it falls in to disrepair or is revitalised will probably depend on the local mayor.Written 31 October 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
