- Tulu34 contributionsWent with a tour. There is a lot of walking but I saw monkeys with babies, sloth with baby and lizards. I would have preferred to not get a tour and go at my pace. More time on the beaches with snacks and chillax would have worked. Do go but without a rush. Costa Rica is wonderful!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- readingteach627Livonia, MI353 contributionsWe had a fabulous visit on a recent trip to Costa Rica. We enjoyed a canoe trip in the local waterway and then had a very informative tour with one of the employees of the sanctuary. We learned so much about sloths. It is well worth a visit if you are in the area.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sven LRostock, Germany2 contributionsOn 01.09. I was with Mathieu (+506 7228 5355 also WhatsApp - spanish, english or french) at night in the jungle of Cahuita. The tour starts at 6 pm near "The Goddess Garden Eco Resort" and leads first along a paved forest path and later across a former cacao plantation. Depending on where you are coming from, you can get there either by car (doesn't have to be a 4x4), taxi or bicycle. You will be back at the starting point around 9 pm. Long pants, hiking shoes, mosquito protection, flashlight and rainwear (depending on the weather) are recommended.
Those who were thrilled by the few animal sightings in Cahuita National Park will be overwhelmed by this tour :) . Besides several different insects and reptiles there are also with a little luck nocturnal mammals (Kinkajou) to see. Mathieu is extremely good at finding the different animals and knows about each one. He can also tell a lot about the plants and the general processes in the jungle (walking trees, bromeliads, etc.). Despite many explanations and the search for hidden animals, he always pays close attention to his environment (ant trails, spider webs, etc.) and the safety of his clients (notes about holes in the path, roots, etc.). I did not feel uncomfortable at any moment, although the situation at night in the jungle is quite different than during the day :) .
Attached you will find a small selection of pictures of the things we have seen. It must be said that a little luck is always part of it. After all, it is almost untouched nature, nothing is fed or somehow influenced. The animals are just there or not. But if they are there, I'm sure Mathieu will find them for you.
Conclusion: By far an absolute highlight of my Panama/ Costa Rica trip and recommended for every nature loving person! Mathieu is very enthusiastic about what he does and it was great fun to walk with him through the jungle. I would always do it again. Just write him and make an appointment, you will not regret it.Written 17 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SadierosebudChattanooga, TN9 contributionsWe loved this tour! So many different kinds of fruits that we got to pick and taste. We saw howler monkeys playing in the trees. So beautiful to see a food forest that was planted decades ago. Many of the mango trees were the biggest I’ve ever seen. We were a group of 4 adults and 7 kids and we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour.Written 21 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chicken765London, UK116 contributionsMy boyfriend and I visited and played golf here last week. We did not book and simply turned up. It was super fun and a welcome break from beach and jungle life! For a couple of dollars you have 10 rounds of mini golf through a lovely garden and a drink is also included. The owner was super friendly and engaging and offered us a few recommendations of places to go. Whatever age, group or couple or solo, you’d have a great time here!Written 11 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelly PIsla Colon, Panama14 contributionsFrom meeting me off the bus, to finding a taxi to get me home, Ramon took care of everything.
I couldn't hide my excitement at seeing my first sloth up close (and he was pretty active) within 5 minutes of entering the path.
Ramon showed me monkies, butterflys, even a big snake and some bats that were hidden in a tree hollow! It was utterly wonderful.
He is extreemly knowledgable and was able to tell me all about the poisionous plants and their remedies.
I recommend getting there early, as we didn't have time to make it all the way to the point. Wear shoes that can get muddy and wet, as you wade through a few creeks and bring your swim wear, the beach is stunning.
Cannot recommend Ramon enough. Thanks for a great time.Written 4 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are tide pools that you can sit and soak in, while the small waves wash in fresh water every so often. We visited on a higher tide, big wave action day , so the pools were hard to stay in. The seas were very rough and large swell in the water. Lots of covered space under the trees. Good shade.Written 10 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
