A rocky beach with some sweeping views. Do not approach the wildlife and be very careful about where you walk and stay on the trail

We visited this museum as part of a tour in Valpo. We had an english speaking guide so he explained what we were seeing. I did notice that quite a few of the exhibits had a description in english. The exhibits are interesting and well displayed, relating to the history of Chile and indigenous people. The upstairs displays include insects and wildlife.

    This is worth visiting.

This clock is still working. Amazing view and nice park. Walk around, feel the ocean, eat at a nice restaurant near the shore. Lots of good sea food.

I HIGHLY recommend a visit here, especially if you just want a quiet walk or want to have some play time with young children. It was absolutely worth the drive from the city. After seeing the reviews, we felt like we were taking a risk to go for the morning. But we LOVED it!

The beautiful plants, water, floral smells, and well-maintained trails made for a great escape from the city for a few hours.

There’s also an area that has a zip line that looked fantastic. We went with our two year old, so we weren’t there for that. But it looked fun!

The tour was informative and the restoration of this place is pretty amazing. I would definitely recommend getting on this tour if possible.

This is the beach for everyone including the surfers. The undertow is quite strong and entire families have been pulled out to sea so be careful while you enjoy this beach

No casinos in Santiago city. The casinos are in municipalities around the city to share the ‘revenue’ . Typical casino once inside

Vina Del Mar is a typical resort town…beaches, seafood restaurants, casino, flash houses. So I was pleasantly surprised to find there are some cultural attractions here. One such I stumbled on was Museo Fonck, a tiny museum, the stand-out of which (literally) is a very ancient gigantic stone statue from Easter Island, which turns out to be the Chilean mainland’s only moai, With Easter Island being such a vast distance from Chile’s coastline I'm not sure a lot of foreign tourists necessarily get the Chilean connexion.

We has some time to stroll Avenida Peru while touring around Valpo. It's not far from the city and offers nice views of the harbor and beach. There are a number of hotels and nice looking restaurants in the area. It's quite a bit cleaner than downtown Valpo.

There were quite a few wealthy people living in Vina del Mar at the beginning of the 20th century. Gustavo Wulff was a very successful trador both in saltpeter and coal. He migrated to Chile in 1881 and made his fortune. He was from Germany and he wanted his own castle. He hired an architect to do so. It went through several additions even including a bridge between towers. When Herr Wulff died, his daughter made some additional changes after World War II. She used the same architect to do so.
The government eventually acquired the property and in 1995, it was pronounced a National Historical Monument by Chilean Law.
There is a small museum there now which probably is not worth your time. This is a very nice photo opportunity though!
