Great way to get between islands. The ferry was timely and a very smooth ride. We brought extra luggage for an extended stay on Utila which was handled with care.

The VIP area gives you AC and a free drink. Not alot but it doesn't cost much extra either so we found it a good value.

At the East end of Utila Town, check opening times before setting off. We went one evening for a post dinner drink and had a very pleasant time. Good place to chill but gets busy at times.

They're not open always, it took me a few times of going up there to find when they were actually open.

I heard about this quaint little chocolate factory the whole time I was on the island. Finally made a trip out to it. What a wonderful surprise! Beautiful surroundings and interesting decor. The chocolate is incredible! Try the brownie with ice cream! Great experience!!

I’ve just returned from the best lunch break ever!

I spent an hour in Float Utila’s sensory deprivation chamber. With no light or noise to distract your mind, you float in calf-deep, skin-temperature water containing 2,000lbs of Epsom salts.

It takes your body and mind a few minutes to get accustomed to this new feeling and to trust that the water will support you; but, before long you feel your breathing and heart rate slow.

After a while (I seriously had no idea how long) I drifted off to sleep. After what I thought was about 20 minutes (an hour in real time), I was roused from my slumber with gentle, soft music.

I felt as if I was laying on something solid and my senses were a little surprise when I turned my wrist and felt warm water!

After showering off the salt water I emerged feeling super refreshed - like I had just enjoyed a 10-hour sleep in the world’s most comfortable bed. I felt both relaxed and energised at the same time - still do.

Although not always open to the public (check their Facebook page for float days), at $50 USD it isn’t the cheapest thing to do on Utila, but it is a sound investment in your mind and body.

For those looking for a fantastic family vacation home, you can rent the stunning five-bedroom house above Float Utila and float until your heart is content.

Cay House sleeps 11 comfortably - the master bedroom even has a floating king size bed with a balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

With hammocks and chairs on the deck and a private dock, the outside is just as stunning as the inside. I loved the spacious well-appointed kitchen and the cosy library jam packed with great books.

The owner John is just as relaxed as the floatation experience. This was been his home for over 16 years and he makes regular trips back to ensure everything is in perfect order.

The minimum stay is two-nights and the rent is $320 USD per night - a steal at only $32 USD if there is 10 of you.

In my opinion it is one of the most luxurious and comfortable houses right in the middle of the bay, close to all the bars, restaurants and dive shops that the beautiful Bay Island of Utila has to offer.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga at Freedive's dock during sunset is very relaxing, spiritual and edificant experience I've ever had.

Ruben is a very talented instructor that will be able to adapt his Yoga session to all levels, it doesn't matter if you're new to yoga or an expert, you'll have an excellent experience.

Wether you want to connect with your inner self, get fitter or improve your flexibility, Yoga with Ruben will definitely help accomplish your personal goals.

He'll provide you with mats, you just need to bring water and a towel.

Morning classes are at "The Museum" and afternoon classes at the dock at Free Dive, there's Yoga everyday!! sometimes even more than 2 sessions available on one day, so it's good to Like them and keep posted on Facebook.

    Namaste!

Enjoyable experience! Rode a couple hours and got to see some great sites. Rode to the top of pumpkin hill and got to see a birds eye view of the whole island, rode along the shore for a bit and finished up on some backwoods country roads. We are not riders (my wife’s first time), horses were super chill, I think they’d probably follow the guide with no input from the rider!

This was such a wonderful experience! UDC truly has the best vibe. It was so welcoming and everyone just seemed friendly and happy. The location was perfect, the gear was great, and the education was excellent. I got my open water here and I felt so safe and comfortable the whole time and feel like I could confidently continue to dive anywhere. The highlight of the course was definitely the instructors Devin, Sharky, and Hope were all fantastic. Our lead instructor Devin was so kind, patient, fun and was a great teacher. 10/10 UDC

I had the most wonderful massage yesterday. I’ve had quite a few massages in my time and this one was unique. It was like a combination of Swedish massage, reflexology, energy work and aromatherapy. While it was happening I felt well cared for, relaxed and overwhelmed by a feeling of compassion. Would 100% enjoy again. To top it all off, the massage room is located off of Luzia’s beautiful flower-filled home.

Paradise Divers has a great set up for diving and accommodations, and they are located only a block from the ferry terminal.

I don't remember much of Utila but think I had a good time- also have many t--shirts from all the drinking challenges.

Good service from drivers from Roneey Tours on the shuttle from Tegucigalpa to Leon. The shuttle had originally started with passengers from La Ceiba before reaching us, but the driver asked a passenger to move up front with him so we could sit together when we were picked up. Very thoughtful.

We joined up with another shuttle from Antigua later so passengers and drivers could be swapped. We crossed the Honduras/Nicaragua border around 9pm. We individually went in to get stamped out of Honduras but our driver collected our passports and border fees for the Nicaragua side. We only had to put our bags through the scanner. Made the crossing a lot easier for us all.

Felt safe and secure, with exception of a short period with the first driver with some speedy driving and would use the company again. Others in our vehicle had used them multiple times. We were each dropped at our accommodation in Leon around 11pm, an hour earlier than planned. Good all round.
