What travellers are saying
- Michael CDerby, UK2 011 contributionsThe whole visit to the tower is is a stunning experience. The ride up in the elevator is exciting, and when you get to the viewing gallery then all the views are simply stunning. On the day of our visit the visibility was great so we were able to see across the whole of the Auckland area.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jgb0000555217 contributionsVery interesting museum that had a number of exhibits on 3 floors- good information on the history of New Zealand. Made the stop off the hop on hop off bus.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Heather E4 contributionsThe views were great and well worth the walk. Be sure to bring your hats and sunscreen as there is very little shade except towards the bottom.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdR_12Frimley, United Kingdom2 contributionsI've had a fantastic day. A small island turned into bird sanctuary heaven. Our guide was amazing. Worth payjng the small sum of $10nz for a guided tour.
The guides know where the opportunity to see wildlife is the greatest, they can tell you a lot about the island and how it was turned into a sanctuary for rare species.
Loved it. Great day trip.
Suggest you book in advance.
Make sure you bring water/drinks and lunch. You get free tea/coffee at the lighthouse and there's a lovely souvenir shop which they rely on as all goes back into the care of the island.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Parking does cost based on the length of time you select from the meter, however, you can also park on the side of the street before turning into the parking lot, which I believe is free.
I was really impressed at how clean and well manicured everything looked throughout the zoo. The greenery/plants stood out to me in comparison to the dryer climate I'm used to.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John GSaint Georges-super-Ely, UK78 contributionsStarts off a bit underwhelming but gets better as you go.
The rocking room of an early cabin is a neat idea.
There are lots of short videos and interactive screens to keep most of us entertained and educated, but two at least are too long. One has a running time of 48 mins and another 80 mins. I have no doubt that Peter Blake was a remarkable Kiwi, but how many visitors will sit through an 80 minute tribute?
All in all though I spent 2 hours there and I don’t really like sailing!Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I thought the museum was well worth spending an hour or so...Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Scott GWashington DC, DC408 contributionsAdjoins One Tree Hill, so this is a lovely walk to extend your stay. There are farm animals to see (cows and sheep) which is nice for children and adults alike. There's a little cottage to see inside.Written 3 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- DudmanAuckland Central, New Zealand3 contributionsThe park is abundant with greenery, providing an excellent route for physical activity. You can immerse yourself in nature and observe some sheep among other things. The playground is decent but could use more diversity. The skateboard track is quite disappointing, seemingly designed for tyres rather than skateboard wheels. However, the park’s vastness could keep you occupied for several hours. A leisurely stroll around the park and up the hill to take in the views could easily take up to 2 hours.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
