- Breige GEnniskillen, UK2 contributionsWe have just spent THE most wonderful evening at …. we had just popped in for a drink after a meal but could not believe what a wonderful place we had arrived at. Instantly we felt this was something very special! I can very honestly say that this was an experience I will remember forever. To say that we were amongst some of the most brilliant, talented musicians is no word of an exaggeration. We were completely captivated and almost felt that we were intruding on something very special, something very intimate but something extraordinary!! I really cannot praise the musicians or the owners highly enough! It really felt like a Joules Holland experience. My husband and I both said that we would happily have paid for the entertainment but it was entirely free . We were met with the warmest welcome from the owner who just happens to be multitalented ( sings, plays saxophone and serves the most wonderful wine)and I certainly know where we will be spending every evening of our break….Bar La Terrazza Mascagni 🇮🇹🎶🎤Written 10 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DierregiTurin, Italy2 275 contributionsThis is a most impressive place that we discovered by chance, even if it's very popular to the local people. The church is located on top of a hill with a great view and inside you find a huge collection (over 12.000!) of tokens and small paintings, from people to thank the Madonna of Montenero for having provided help during difficult times.
Even if the religious part is not your thing, it's still worth a visit for the great view and the short trip by cableway.Written 28 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But please take away your garbage with you. Some spots are rather filthy, cigarettes and plastic bags anywhere. Come on, take care of the nature.Written 16 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shelly G155 contributionsWe visited the Aquarium yesterday and had a great time! We took the train from Pisa to Livorno Centrale and then took the LAM Blu bus to the Terrazza Mascagni stop. When you get off the bus, just walk forward and you’ll see the Aquarium in front of you. The bus ticket cost €2.50. The journey itself was nice and easy and we did this with our 1 year old son.
Lovely Aquarium but a bit disappointing with the size of it. We stayed for about an hour and had a brilliant time. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re thinking of it.Written 11 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Livorno is a right place if you love the sea and sun. Don't forget to visit Mascagni lungomare at the sunset time.Written 3 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alisdair tWorkington, UK6 329 contributionsI was in the town for the day on a cruise, so spent the day just wandering, The canal area, was really very pleasant, lovely buildings adorning the canal sides, plenty of boats in the canals, but the water was not very clean. Dont expect Venice, it does not attempt to be it. There are a few nice bars and cafes on the sides in a couple of the locations.Written 27 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DierregiTurin, Italy2 275 contributionsOne of my favourite experiences in Livorno. The museum is hosted in a great historical building that used to be a private home.
The collection is quite large and interesting, although they don't have that many paintings by Fattori which is my favourite painter from the Macchiaioli current. However, I discovered painting from other artists that I did not know and that were kind of impressive.
I would definitely recommend, very atmospheric and well worth a visit.Written 28 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - on_the_go_98765Tucson18 350 contributionsThree towers were added during the Medieval period and it was a strong fortification system up until the WWII bombing. The majority of the walls we saw were located in the marina where our ship was docked.Written 17 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Johan FKungsbacka, Sweden89 contributionsWe enjoyed a nice swim in the waves of this very beautiful beach. The kids loved it. The access is a bit tricky so if you have any physical issues it might be a little bit tricky as you have to climb down on the cliffs the last 50 meters. But otherwise it is not hard. Be sure to be here in the morning because the little parking lot fills up quickly and the road as well.Written 3 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neal_007Canterbury, UK16 contributionsThis is a quiet little gem in the Little Venice part of Livorno. It's about a 10-15 minute walk away from the cruise port (with little canals all around). It's tempting to bypass this part of Livorno, heading straight to the station for Florence and Pisa - but don't. Use any spare half hour to get here.
The church is small, charming, peaceful and touching. It doesn't have the grandeur or sculptures of the main tourist cities, but has a genuine religious authenticity about it (despite the clever painted on depth to the fresco walls). Several little installations to discover. Check out the section at the back, partially curtained.Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To entice people to move and set up business in Livorno the Grand Duke granted the residents freedom of religion. It became a haven for Spanish Jews and other persecuted foreigners.
The common name of the statue refers to the four Moor slaves in chains at the base.
Statue overlooks the inner harbor where the coast guard docks its ships..Written 23 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
