What travellers are saying
- QualityAdamWorcestershire, UK84 contributionsReally good guided tour and then free audio tour on the top of the building. Guide books free to takeaway. Book in advance but highly recommend.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ClarebkWrexham, UK16 contributionsGreat site to see, especially in the dark when it's lit up but always large crowds there.
On a side note... The hotel where Michael Jackson famously hung his baby out of the window is also right by there.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Worth the visit but be prepared to absorb lots and lots of information.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jo C8 contributionsVery moving. Unique. Thought provoking. Almost overwhelming but ultimately profoundly moving. This is a must-see on any trip to Berlin. Along with the museum underneath the memorial. You have to do bothWritten 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tony Eyu Wei ChongSingapore170 contributionsI was fortunate to visit the museum before it is closed for long term refurbishment.
Good collection of Middle East antiques.
Museum Island is definitely a must visit in Berlin. I will visit them again.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The wall is quite lengthy and the side facing the street definitely has the interesting artwork. We first went down the side facing the river and there wasn’t much of interest to see - looked a lot more like simple graffiti (without any real “message”). We enjoyed visiting this and seeing some very interesting artwork and messaging. Maybe not a “Must Do” but worth seeing.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sandy SAlbuquerque, NM1 047 contributions“Falling in Love,” this year’s Grand Show at the Friederichstadt Palast, was tighter and even more elaborate than the productions we’d seen in the past, despite two unscheduled pauses for technical difficulties, perhaps resulting from the elaborate staging, which included trampolines, fountains and a dizzying number of moving parts. Jean Paul Gaultier’s phantasmagoric costumes were so elaborate that I wondered how the dancers could perform in them. A strong color scheme – green, red and blue – helped bring the visual aspects together. The music was more melodic and not as ear-splittingly loud as in previous years. The singers seemed better miked than they had in the past, so we could actually discern the lyrics, presented bilingually, with some stanzas or entire songs in German and others in English. Olivier Erie St. Louis, who played the chameleon Leon, was particularly strong.Written 27 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debbie HOslo, Norway108 contributionsGo and experience this wonderful gem in the middle of Berlin! Photos do not do it justice, each building seems to outdo the other in architecture. And so many treasues inside. Take time to think about what you'd mostly be interested in. Take good walking shoes and focus on 2 museums with breaks each day.Written 23 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gail CReading, UK68 contributionsThis was a stunning cathedral with an amazing phoenix like history. The final restoration was not completed until after the millennium. It was cheap to get in and an adventure awaited- a climb up to the cathedral dome via increasingly rickety staircases! I felt a bit out of breath by the top so take your time! A great combination of history, views and exercise.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - shacklestonRedcar, UK814 contributionsExcellent park even in winter, quite a few animal statues and memorials to see. So it is well worth a visit, with other sites close by, Russian Memorial, Victory Column, Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Liam0073Enniskillen, UK7 contributionsCame herbwith my family. Since it was January the zoo was lovely and quiet. It is an amazing zoo, with lovely big enclosures. Would recommend it to anyone visiting berlin. The gift shop was a bit meh and the toilets could be better sign posted but it's otherwise fabulous.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
