- Martin FMunich, Germany47 contributionsNice small Mountain with good trails. View is very cool!
Saw a bear and had to go back but overall nice small hiking trip.
Best in summer!Written 14 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can enter and walk around (a few you could only see inside through the windows). There was a nice variety of buildings and they were well done on the insides. There were some 'town folks' in some of the buildings to answer questions.
There is a larger version of this near where I live and they add the element of having working stores as part of their park. For example, the candy store sells real candy (old fashion types of course), a working ice cream parlor, etc. This adds to the fun of visiting. Still, this was well worth the visit.Written 20 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is plenty of green space and manicured path for easy walking trails. There's also a boating lake if you want to relax in a pedalo or kayak. Within the park there's also the Shadbolt centre, the Burnaby Art Gallery and a heritage park.Written 31 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris DNew Westminster, Canada3 142 contributionsLots of great places for outdoor exercise in the lower mainland of British Columbia, but when it gets HOT, this is one of the best places to go. The well marked trail system offers 20 minute, 60 minute, or actually many hours of walking without repeating your route. The trees shield you from road noise, vehicle exhaust, and Skytrain rattles; while providing great shade from that large yellow orb we see so rarely. Washrooms here and there, good mapping; parking lots for those who didn't use the Skytrain to arrive at this centrally located bit of almost-heaven.Written 22 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - deepakgupta5Vancouver, Canada603 contributionsThis is supposedly the biggest mall in Vancouver and it doesn't disappoint with the choice of brands. It has a huge selection of international, Canadian, luxury and budget brands. It is very centrally located with the Sky Train and bus stations right next to the mall. The food court has a huge choice and there are other eating joints spread across the mall. The overall cleanliness of washrooms was very disappointing as I have not seen such poorly maintained washrooms in Canada. Overall, a great place to spend a rainy afternoon, or for a one-stop shopping expedition.Written 31 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - deepakgupta5Vancouver, Canada603 contributionsThe park is dedicated to the former mayor of Burnaby and it seems it was his favourite walking area. It is a lovely park with plenty of options. You can have a picnic or a barbecue, or go fishing or swimming or kayaking. It is very popular with dog owners as this is an off-leash park and dogs can be seen running around on the grass or darting into the water. There is a very nice walking trail which takes around the waterfront. All in all, a great place to spend morning or afternoon or evening depending on your preferenceWritten 28 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - deepakgupta5Vancouver, Canada603 contributionsThis is a lovely park located in North Burnaby. You can go for long walks or choose to enjoy great water views. The trails are easy and have various loops that allow you to choose how much you want to walk on a given day. They can be bit narrow in spots, abut on the positive side, most trails are well shaded - which can be a very important factor on a hot day. To cool-down, you canstroll to the waterfront, where you will be able to see a host of birds and enjoy the large lake in the middle of the city.Written 22 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Terry PCoquitlam, Canada356 contributionssuitable anytime time of year for all, great place for walk to enjoy views of the North Shore mountains and towards the city of VancouverWritten 26 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris DNew Westminster, Canada3 142 contributionsHaven't been here for over a year. Usually come to enjoy a walk along the river on a hot day, when the trees provide enough shade to keep the walk comfortable.
However, ever mindful of Covid, spending more time meeting friends in the open air, rather than in restaurants. So, when it was suggested a meeting here one afternoon, I thought it worth a try. Not disappointing - lots of parking, typical park benches for picnicking or just sitting, clean restrooms, a play area for young children, and a great view of the river.
