- Sil Brandsma1 contributionI went paragliding with by brother and it was such an amazing experience. It was a beautiful day and the view over the picos de europa was astonishing. The trip to the top of the mountain in the four wheel drive car only was exiting. The whole experience was after al not that scary at all, because the instructors were very reassuring and good with giving instructions on how to make the flight. The whole crew are great people, very kind and once we were in the air the instructor (i was partnered with Txema) was clear and was making sure i was okay. So we had a wonderful canyoning-experience in the afternoon. Our guide Alejandro let us expand our bounderies, without pushing it to hard. We had a lot of fun!

We stayed at El Hoyal hotel in Pesaguero, just opposite Teresa's house. Moth traps were run locally and as well as walks in local meadows we did longer trips to amazing places in the Picos. We saw special and secret wildflower locations and on many slopes the sheets of wild flowers rivalled Switzerland.
Teresa's knowledge both of the area and the wildlife meant she was the perfect leader. Mike is very experienced and knows many treks that are off the beaten track with few or no other people around. He was also great at getting the best out of us, his sometimes reluctant, sometimes doubting climbers. In the evenings we were treated to delicious three course meals, cooked with locale produce, by Lisa at Casa Gustavo their charming and comfortable family lodge omplete with cats and dogs. The trip was all inclusive - Mike providing pick-ups and drop-offs and all meals provided.
