Actors all came across very professional and was comparable to going to a Toronto theater. Easy access to the grounds and beautiful setting on Georgian Bay.

A Gem just north east of Barrie on the edge of Muskoka.

Great camping experience from the check in at the 'ranger station' (with campground store there for extra supplies if needed) to the campsite which was always clean and ready to use with a fire [pit]; usually two picnic tables and parking for two typically.

Water always nearby (delicious spring water, millions of years old); clean showers and even laundry facilities, children's park and original natural Tall Trees to shade you in to the forest.

Very weak Cell service signal (one bar in Hawk campground at best but thats' okay).

    PRO staff

Beautiful beach and also there's Kettle's Lake scenic area.

    So nice
    truly a GEM

Fantastic, the simplicity of life back in 1800 should teach everyone to be thankful for what we have. How hard it was to survive.
Tremendous exhibits and staff, super informative and helpful.

There is lots to do there. There's a beach for swimming; two volleyball nets in the sand, basketball courts; skatepark; playground etc

Historic Church with amazing architecture and wall frescoes. Upon entering you will be overwhelmed by the height of the structure. Overall it is a must see if you are in area.

My family visited this museum while on a mini-vacation to the area. (We were there during Covid-19 so our experience and review will reflect that). We made reservations online as it was recommended and when we arrived we were happily received by a lovely women. Payment was by donation at this time. We were able to pay by credit card but I wish we had had cash on us so they wouldn’t have to incur the fees. The museum had signs on the floor to guide us through.

The museum is a little on the smaller side but that is because it is inside original historical buildings. And so very cute. We learned a lot of history about the area and we loved seeing the old tools and clothes of the past. My son particularly liked seeing the penny farthing bicycle and the general store. We almost missed seeing the mini model of a church but make sure you don’t! It’s upstairs and has a switch on the wall to turn on the lights. We all liked seeing that.

The one thing we missed was more information on the Indigenous in the area. I know there are other historical places that have lots of this information (they were actually closed during our stay) but I would have liked to see more at this museum.

We had a time limit of 30 minutes and it took approximately that much time to see it all. It wasn’t too busy so I don’t imagine they would have kicked us out anyway. There is a small gift store with books, toys, and other souvenirs. The genealogy area was closed when we were there.

If you have never visited the Patch of Blue on Fuller Ave. you are truly missing something sweet & special. From early July and through most of the month, the Maurices open their Blueberry field for pickers to come & fill their baskets. Excellent berries and oh so good too.

Park at the Penetang docks and ride around the bottom of the bay and right around in a "loop". Obtain a Cycle Simcoe trail map, lots of routes to choose from and at different abilities and distances. Well signed. Trails are in good condition with a variety of terrains, birds and trees. The Penetanguishene Loop takes you past a number of marinas so you can usually get a cold drink or a snack at their marina store or when you get back to the Town Docks. Will go back to explore more.

We had booked a boat for 2 days but I had to cancel. They let me use my deposit to rebook anything I wanted. I booked a private tour for 2 hours for 5 people. Dwayne was our captain. He was very nice and very knowledgeable about the area and very flexible to meet our needs. They had great communication throughout booking and rebooking. We went for a swim at tomahawk Island. It was lovely. Can't wait to book again soon!! Thank you!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. The captain's family has been in the area for generations and he shared a lot of interesting history, native folklore and current day goings on in the area. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing afternoon and a history lesson about the area.
We were there on a very hot and sunny day and were thankful for the lower deck to catch some shade occasionally while still enjoying the view and commentary.
All of the staff were very friendly.

This isn't an exciting tour, but a group of 9 of us went on the cruise for my dad's 70th birthday. Lots of seniors on the trip, and families too. We went on the Serendipity. There's a top level of the boat which is open to the air (and rain ... yes, it rained), a middle deck with tables and chairs, and a lower deck with more seating, washrooms, and bar service.

Sit on the left side of the boat. All of the sights are on that side. We sat on the right (assume the paddle rudder is the back) and had to strain to see all of the sights that the recorded voice was explaining. Most of the time, there is not recording, but when it comes on, it's referring to sights on the left-side (shore line).

Wednesdays is 2-for-1. This made it a good deal for us.

As a local, I've been here several times but never experienced the negative that some reviews have indicated. I can tell you that the store has trouble with shoplifting. I can also suggest that the layout and volume of product does not help. It's too bad that some have has accusatory actions and I do not discount that. Owners should be more accommodating and less assumptive.
