- HawareBudapest, Hungary117 contributionsThis was our second time here. Scenic location, historical surroundings. Winetasting is freindly and professional, huge selection, excellent value for money. Staff is beyond imagination. Will surely return in the future again.Written 22 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - zdaatiVienna, Austria3 580 contributionsVery nice church at top of a very nice town of gumpoldskirchen. The chutch is nice both inside and out and the walk via the old street up is great. There is a little lake on the side and the whole town is about wineyards but due to covid all the heurigers with the local wines are closed.
The church is from 1200 and dominates the town square and beside is a castle.Written 6 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The church was open but the castle not due to covid.
Area is great to walk around and in normal times full of resturants and local wine.Written 6 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - felix2109Vienna, Austria83 contributionsHave been there many times, but this time, went for a mother’s day meal and was underwhelmed.
Had booked table in courtyard downstairs and they tried to give me a table indoors on a gorgeous sunny day. I complained and explained i had specifically asked for outside, and got lots of attitude... like “when did you book? What 1 week? haha, this is mother’s day “... the classic austrian inability to simply apologise.
Once we got the table outside, only 1 starter and 2 mains for veggies, and the kraut strudel was so so. My Zwiebelrostbraten was overdone, though the potatoes were good. Salad weak.
Topfenstrudel for dessert was dry, and when we asked for Melange coffee, were told it comes with whpped cream. Asked for foamed milk and were told they dont do that (yet this is the classic melange in austria!).
So shame. I will probably try it one more time cos the previous time upstairs was really good, so perhaps they were just overwhelmed by the occasion.Written 13 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - zdaatiVienna, Austria3 580 contributionsNice building where the tourist office is, due to covid was closed but looks good. Added a picture so that all can find it, very central and close to the rathaus.Written 6 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
