We cycled this route many times and found it a easy ride and well worth doing, it a nice walk as wellWritten 30 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In general, it’s a great place and we spent 6 hours there, however a few points to mention.
1. Book in advance online, even if it’s just from the car park. It will save you about 15 euros and time as well (can go straight in without queuing for a ticket). Bear in mind that if your child is over 1.30m tall then they need an adult ticket.
Here’s the annoying part: if your child is less than 10 years old they won’t be allowed on any of the proper main slides even if they are 1.3m tall and have paid for an adult ticket. Also, they aren’t allowed on the smaller slides, these are for 8 and under! Still plenty to do, but good to bear in mind when the lifeguards ask ;)
Also, our daughter is 6 and just over 1.2m tall. She wasn’t allowed on some of the smaller slides!! She was meant to go on the mid-size slides but the water was 1.2m in the pool. Even though she has been doing swim lessons her whole life, she was worried about landing in deep water.
Also, there’s lots of extra to pay for, it’s not all included in the entry price. Lockers cost 4.50 euros plus 3 euro deposit - you need to bring the key ANd receipt back to get the deposit back. The sun loungers cost 4 euro each.
Plenty of food options there, all reasonably priced.
The lifeguards are very strict and on the ball! No phones in the pool unless it’s in waterproof pocket! No sunglasses unless they have a rubber band. This park seems lesser known, I think we were the only English speaking people there, but we got by - most staff could speak a little english.
Lots of negatives here I know, but we had a fantastic time! Just thought these points might be useful for some others :)Written 1 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We also went to the interpretation centre which explains all about this natural area. With a bit of looking around at the monastery all these place are easily accessible for disabled people.Written 4 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SistaBlessLondon, UK67 contributionsRototom is an event I will keep returnig to. This year was my 8th attendance. The line-up from The Twinkle Brothers to Luciano was excellent (The Heptones really made it for me this year even though I'm a roots girl at heart). But for me, it will always be about the people who attend, my Rototom familly. The freedom and love felt in "Rototom Village" (the campsite) is amazing. I don't make friends at Rototom, I make family. Even if you don't love reggae music, there is so much to do it's amazing. The activities for children are excellent and the music goes on all night. There are also activities on the beach during the day and there are buses from the festival site into Benicassim and the beach. There's also food and drink from all over the world including Rasta Ital food, Ethiopian, Thai and Cuban (who also do the best cocktails on site!). There is also food available 24/7 on the campsite. I must say, the water prices on site were very expensive this year, but go to the supemarket before you come on site (if camping) and stock up or get the bus to town to the shops.
There are 2 disabled toilets on the main festival site near the main stage and the entrance (behind Dub Academy). There also disabled facilities on the main campsite but more are needed, especially in the Glamping area where there are none and I kept getting stuck in the gravel on my scooter near the toilets. I take a solar shower and a bowl for hot water, old school stylee, as the showers are cold water. If you want to be there, you make it work and fellow festival goers as well as Rototom staff will always help. I would suggest that if you have moibility issues, use a good, solid wheelchair or mobility scooter as the terrain on the campsite is rough and stoney and the site is massive so there is a lot of walking. Bikes are only allowed in the main festival area until a certain time. There were also a few problems with some of us taking folding chairs into the main festival site after the Barcelona terrorist incident which happened whilst the festival was taking place but this was sorted out. Chairs can be removed by staff at night and many people cannot stand all night, especially if you've been taking part in activities all day or you have health issues. Overall though, the blessed vibes, atmosphere and people will always bring me back to Rototom. Near the holiday apartments, approx. 2km away from the main town.Written 2 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Braveheart8068Exmouth, UK54 contributionsInteresting history revealed on story boards along the seafront and in leaflet from the Tourist Office. Some villas have been beautifully restored while others need renovation. Lovely walk along the seafront to see them but note that cycling is not permitted.Written 8 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rebecka LLidingo, Sweden101 contributionsI decided to go to this festival with two of my daughters 15 and 12 year old, and one of their friends. Since my 15 year old is a huge fan of the Hunna and the 1975, it was a great chance to see both bands, when we were on vacation in Spain. The festival works with children, you just need to prepare documents beforehand. I was not sure if they would appreciate the festival, but the older ones really enjoyed it, the younger also enjoyed but thought the music wa a bit loud. It is really hot during day time, so I strongly recommend to get your wristbands but not enter the festival until evening, when it is a bit cooler.Written 28 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dwalford1Bristol, UK43 contributionsWe were the only ones for the 10.30 tour. Taken round by a lady with no English, but we were given a printed leaflet with all the info. Interesting tour.
At the end is a "help yourself" tasting of most of their products. There are about 20 wines and liqueurs to try. If you pay about 3 euros more for the Premium Tour, you also have a large gin & tonic (or one of the other spirits they make).
We spent quite a bit in the shop after! Bottle of gin is 26€ - not bad for craft gin. Liqueurs cost about 15€ and wines cost about 8€.
The whole tour took about 50 mins.
I'd recommend it for a different experience on the Costas.Written 16 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter GMarket Drayton, UK286 contributionsThe beach is nice but! There are very few facilities along the sea front, there is a lovely walking area but so little in the way of bars and restaurants.
