Try the goats milk fresh icecream on the corner of the square. Wonderful location with eash access to the whole of Kos town. My daughter didn’t want to leave as she could run everywhere. Beautiful square in Kos

We were very fortunate in having an excellent guide who made the history fascinating and humorous. The 3 d tablet enabling you to visualise what may have been was a real bonus. One thing puzzled me.. was it bad design in making so many steps for sick people or was there a reason.?

Enoma Wine Tasting was excellent .Super wines and accompaniments Host was great and made the experience. She was very knowledgeable and did a great tour of the vineyard afterwards.
The winery is tucked away from the busy town down the hill so it is super peaceful and was a great way to spend a portion of our afternoon, would 100% recommend and do again.

Although it didn't take us long to explore, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Full of history and was kept in good condition. We got some great photos and were the only ones there at 10am

I really was in my element here and I could have spent another hour walking around were it not for the heat! ☀️ 💦 The ruins were beautiful and I love the way they’re generally left without railings/chains etc and tourists are trusted to use their common sense so the feel is more authentic. There were signs dotted about but they were very old and I still couldn’t make sense of what was what when I was looking at the arial image of the agora. I would have really appreciated more info. But do you know what, for free, I can’t really complain! It’s a must see

Graet to wander around and great for me. A well preserved roman street, original mosaics, wall paintngs, marble and archways all very absorbing and free.
For the kids a bit more on site information would have been good to bring things to life a bit more.

    Peaceful place, with blu sea.
Little km of the town city, you can find this place.
You can put your beach sheet or buy with little money umbrellas and loungers.
Additionally beach you can drink a delicious drink at the beautiful and charming bar just being the beach.
I would raccomed it, worth a visit.

This was one of the best beach bars I’ve been to in a while. The music was great, atmosphere was amazing and the staff were just so kind and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back here🤍

Could be cleaned up a bit and more taken care of, lovely thing to see but do think it needs a bit of tlc. It’s such a shame as it could be an amazing place .

We stumbled upon this beach bar on a bike ride. We were able to get two excellent sub beds (thick mattresses), a parasol and chair for free. You just had to buy a drink. Drinks were so delicious and ice cold. We had some non alcoholic cocktails which were fab!
Staff were all very friendly & attentive.
There was a great vibe with a live DJ playing during the afternoon.

There are two mosques in the old town of Kos: the Defterdar Mosque at Eleftherias Square and the Loggia Mosque at the small Platanos Square, where the tree of Hippocrates stands. Both mosques are now closed and not in use anymore, but still attractive to look at from the outside. Only the Loggia Mosque still has its minaret (the one of the Deftredar Mosque fell down during the earthquake July 2017).

The Loggia Mosque doesn't have a dome, as was usual during Ottoman times, but a hipped roof covered with red tiles, which doesn't make it look like an Islamic prayer house. There is an arcade on the north side of the ground floor, which is the reason that the building is now called 'Loggia Mosque'. (Tzami tis Lotzias' in Greek). Above it are two floors, each with different types of windows, the higher ones being arched. The whole construction has beauiful masonry.

The real name of the mosque is 'Ghazi Hassan Pasha Mosque' in honour of the man, who gave the orders for its construction - according to an inscription in 1786. Hassan Pasha was an interesting person, a Georgian slave, who rose through the ranks in the Ottoman army, becoming 'Kapudan Pasha', thus 'Commander of the Navy' and at the same time the governor of the 'Vilayet Cezayir' (Province of the White Sea), which included all the islands in the Eastern Aegean, thus also Kos. Because of his achievements in the Russo-Turkish War he was given the title of honour 'Ghazi', reserved for military leaders, who distinguished themselves in wars against non-Muslims.

Great taxi service from Kos airport to the old town. Well priced, cheaper than other options. Stephanos was very friendly and helpful in showing us the old town and to our apartment. As a local company they were very knowledgeable about the area.
