We did a great 11 km hike on the farm followed by a excellent lunch with some great Craft Beer. The vistas from the hiking trail towards the sea is absolutely stunning. We will be back soon.

I lost my 15 year old daughter in a car accident three months ago. A friend from London booked my daughter and myself in to Prana Lodge for a spa day so we could spend a mother/daughter day and try to heal our grief. The experience was absolutely amazing. We cried, we laughed, we chatted and our bodies were treated to the most amazing experience. Everyone from the security guard to the wellness centre staff were extremely professional and friendly. It was my daughter and my birthday the week before so we have decided that this will be our tradition every year to celebrate our birthdays. Thank you Prana Lodge.

We have been fortunate enough to know Thobela for a number of years so, when we wanted to explore parts of the Transkei en route to Durban, we knew exactly who we wanted to take us. He has extensive knowledge of the Xhosa culture and relishes the opportunity to share it with others and we certainly benefited from it on our most recent trip.

There were some places associated with Nelson Mandela and his cultural background that we wanted to visit, but we left it to Tobz to suggest other places we could explore on the route that he would take us. We really liked what he came up with on paper – but the actual experience of seeing some wonderful scenery and getting a flavour of the beautiful Transkei was so much better. Apart from visiting the museum at Qunu and the Nelson Mandela Museum in Mthatha, we also visited the excellent Capture Point exhibition near Howick. We stayed at Mbotyi River Lodge (highly recommended for the comfort of its rooms and the food) for two nights, spending the full day we had there exploring three different waterfalls (Angel Falls, Fraser Falls and Magwa Falls) and visiting the Magwa tea plantation where we were fortunate enough to be shown round the site by the manager and learn about its history and we then went for a walk on the beach. The accommodation he chose for us near Howick, The Halliwell Country Inn, can be likened to an English country house hotel with an excellent restaurant – complete with log fires in the bedrooms - which we obviously didn’t need in November but would be lovely in the depths of winter. Our accommodation in Durban, Belaire Suites, was also extremely comfortable and the breakfast buffet was excellent. He had arranged a walking tour for us with a local guide and we visited the markets, saw some of the Art Deco architecture and also some of the redeveloped port side areas. We also had the experience of going to a rugby match at the Hollywood Bets Kings Park Stadium, although the result was not the one we wanted (it was Dragons from Wales playing Sharks) but we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We decided to call our bespoke tour ‘The Mandela and Waterfalls Tour’ which completely filled our brief.

We would highly recommend that anyone wanting a tailor-made guided holiday should approach Traveloma Tours & Safaris – you won’t be disappointed.
