It is nice to have a look of the Ocean from this "Praia". A lot of people, a lot of surfers and a lot of joy...

Great big playground next to the beach. Just 15 drive from Lisbon. In large field, with multiple parks. Best for older children, but had features for young (2 yrs) too.

Great beach with nice sand. Rather chilling water and great waves. There may be dangerous currents according to signs along the beach. I loved the fact the beach is used by local fishermen. It is not just a place for tourists. Do lack freshwater showers.

Imagine yourself having lunch in the sun with a great view of the ocean on December 30th... This is the place to be. Sheltered between the dunes, you don’t have that much wind and you can enjoy the view and the food.
The menu is limited in winter, quite understandably, but what they serve is very honest food.
You’ll need to be patient sometimes, quite understandably, because they work with less staff in winter. But the guy who served us, was running around serving a whole terrace by himself whilst not losing his good temper. Good food and a great view, I’ll be coming back.

If you are in the center of the village go check this statue. Is a very popular statue and it has a lot of people taking photographs. you can also take the time and walk on the main pedestrian street Rua dos Pescadores, that finishes at the beach.

Very nice beach. Plenty of sand, no litter. Peaceful, plenty of space. Nice cafe nearby. Good, relaxed feel. Balance of clothed and naturist beach users, that seemed to co-exist comfortably. A fair mix of male/female couples, families and singles (mainly men) so had a non-voyeuristic/live and let live feel.

Either take the tunnel from Praia da Senhora beach or half way along the cliff top there are steps down to the beach, not as busy as other beaches which suited us.
