A great place - beautiful beaches, good walks, lovely cafes for coffee, best place for a gin and tonic watching the sunset and a great night out at the Whangamata Club
There are four separate areas to visit so you can get away from the wind if necessary, jump off the wharf, swim in an estuary, or have a choice of two surf beaches - all within reasonable access of each other.

What an amazing stretch of beach, from the sacred Te Pare Historic Reserve all the way down to Cathedral Cove, this is one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen.
Lovely family walk - good to get the heart pumping but worth it for the lovely beaches, coves and scenery.

It's lovely and very scenic, but there are even nicer beaches than this on the Coromandel.
The travel bible, Lonely Planet, includes this location in it's top ten beaches in the world... and we'd agree - tho' we do have many more beaches to explore...

Bit of a drive to get to but worth it if you like gorgeous beaches with very few people on them - which I do!
A beautiful beach, a beautiful setting - a perfect spot for a picnic, a swim, a walk, beach fishing or just sitting and admiring the view.

It is one of NZ’s nicest beaches we’ve been to - warm, beautiful sand, gentle surf, sandy sea bed with very little seaweed etc.

The Coromandel is just one of the many beautiful parts of New Zealand, and Cooks is just one of many beautiful beaches on the Coromandel.
The beach itself is beautiful and unspoilt, the whole stretch is just sand with wonderful views of the surroundings and out to sea.
