We found great results, but some are outside Kells. Showing results in neighbouring cities.

Kells Monastic Site
#1 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Kells
Kells has so much history to it and this monastic site is one of the most popular places to visit.
Enjoyed this site and the town of Kells in general as it was off the beaten path for us.
Spire of Lloyd

And a walk which is lovely with views of Kells and surrounding areas.
Leaving the car park, the walk up to the monument was gentle, providing a lovely view of the surrounding area.
The Market High Cross
#3 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Kells
We drove to the city of Kells to see some sites and eat dinner.
Causey Farm Navan 7.4 km away

There are some picnic tables about the place where you can eat and they had both a crepe van and a fast food van on site.
We finished off our lovely morning by enjoying a nice cuppa and a scone in the café on site.
St. Colmcille's House

Loughcrew Megalithic Cairns Oldcastle 15.6 km away

A fairly steep and grassy hillside awaits you, but the cairns are fantastic and the view of the Meath countryside is worth every ounce of effort put into the hike.
The tomb is much like any cairn tomb you’d see in Ireland, but it was atop a very high hill, so you could get some fantastic views, especially with the nice, clear, sunny day we were having.
