- jazica11Slavonski Brod, Croatia18 contributionswe went for a walk with our 3-year old child, had a nice walk around and had a great time playing on very unusual and interesting playground. The cafe was closed, because it was working day in the early noon hours.Written 8 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ValGermanyGermany71 contributionsfabulous place to learn about the textile industry that coined this area. The textile museum with the weaving and spinning hall will give you a great insight into the old industry. If you're lucky you'll even get a guided tour in English. I found it fascinating to learn about the industry and trade of the 19th century. The Textilwerk itself has changing exhibitions of fashion types throughout the centuries. Both historic buildings are particularly good when it's raining you you're looking for something dry to do ;)Written 6 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - canadiandeutscheBelleville, Canada23 contributionsWe were in Germany around Christmas so the Weihnachtsmarkt was set up and all the windows in this building had days of the month, a lot like an advent calendar. I'd never seen anyone do this with a building before, so it was pretty great.Written 22 March 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth CBorken, Germany37 contributionsI visit the Stadtwald during winter but there was no snow. It's a beautiful place to enjoy a long walk. There are World War 2 bunkers in the forest you walk to, but there are no signs for it. I was luck enough to get some friends to take me there.Written 7 February 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RHAHJNijmegen, The Netherlands1 972 contributionsThe owner guided me through this museum. Enthusiasm is good, but here I felt a little awkward. The guy kept talking about the bargains he got in acquiring the various items. Nevertheless, it is nice to see so many different old crafts all in one place, almost for free. The buildings are also very nice recreations.Written 9 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- RHAHJNijmegen, The Netherlands1 972 contributionsThe city museum is mainly about the history of Bocholt and surroundings, with some additional modern art and industry. The modern industry consists of producing parts for wind turbines (so I understood at least). The modern art consisted of paintings by one painter. The archeological section was very nice. It had some fairly standard items such as tools from the stone, bronze, and iron ages, and mammoth and reindeer bones. Quite special is the skull part of a woolly rhino. There are also fossils and minerals. There are medieval documents important for the city history. A sword, medieval tools and shoes, pottery, a helmet, a shoulder plate, a model of Bocholt in the early 17th century, and items relating to the world wars. There's fine glass from the 17th century and 15th century drawings. There's an old bike to remind us that someone from Bocholt invented the German word for bike. And finally a room dedicated to the textile industry of Bocholt. A fine collection for a city like Bocholt.Written 22 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
