Not as difficult as it looks, but you must be able to climb steps and not have a fear of heights. Definitely bring water and wear sneakers.

Get your reservations early for pearl harbor. The standby line was backed way up. Talked to a lady said she waited over 2hrs in hit sun.

There are 2 museums and they are very good. They are free to enter and take roughly 30 mins to go through.

You get about 30mins at the memorial site itself. Very cool and well done.

This was a very informative and interesting tour of the only royal palace in the U.S.! We took a docent led tour and it was definitely the way to go. Our guide provided great history of the palace and the island in general. After the tour, we were able to explore the grounds and the self-guided exhibits in the basement. There was plenty of free parking.

The place is excellent, I don't have anything bad to say, once you get in. But getting in is the problem, you reserve and book a specific time, then you get there and parking is full. They tell you to go have breakfast/lunch then come back. You come back, and the parking lot is full.

I've seen other reviews about this issue as well, so I think they really need to expand there parking lot as this seems to be the biggest sore sport with this place.

If you want to save yourself headache, reserve anytime you can get, but go very early in morning, as soon as it opens if you can, this will save you "parking lot is full" problem.

Also, continue to drive past Hanauma Bay (north I believe), the windy road is right next to ocean with several parking lots to stop and take some grand pictures, its beautiful.

The views at the top are not to be missed and the lighthouse is a bonus (although the path that leads directly to the lighthouse is closed) Because you are walking up an sunshaded incline on asphalt, it is hot so be sure to brig water to drink. There is no drinking water available there

Nice hike but not as easy as some the reviews say it is. We were all sweating and you definitely have to watch your steps more here with the loose rocks and them being damp and muddy. Also going back down you really have to be careful not to slip. On another note the bathrooms in this area are horribly dirty and OLD! The parking areas also have some huge potholes! I was surprised they don’t use some of the revenues for the parking fees to fox up the restrooms and parking areas. Overall beautiful views once you see the waterfall.

This trail is definitely difficult, but absolutely worth it. Many times on the climb I questioned my sanity but once at the top, the view was amazing. do not do this hike without proper shoes and be sure you have water with you.

Must visit for people interested in History and Anthropology. The museum has a remarkable collection of pieces from the Hawaiian and Polynesian cultures. The building and gardens are very pleasant.

A must visit for people interested in Military History. The museum has a selected collection of World War II aircrafts and pieces. Access is easy and there is plenty of informational material.

Upon leaving the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii, I was told the museum would be closing for extensive upgrades, repairs, and enhancements probably until late December or into early 2023. So, check the website for updates. I just did and they closed February 12th.

The Army Museum is a short walk from all the major hotels in Waikiki. If you immerse yourself, it will take 2-3 hours. The history, culture, and exhibits presented are awesome. All they asked for was a donation.

You could definitely understand why upgrades are needed as the years have taken a toll on this once important fort. But, it shouldn’t stop anyone from a wonderful historical walk.

With the above said, I will return to see the modifications in 2023.

Anyone visiting Hawaii after the museum reopens, GO! I am sure it will be better.

I always count the Army and Bishop Museums as my must see, go to places on my trips to Waikiki / Honolulu.

We really wanted to visit Shangri-La so we came to the museum to get on the waitlist. As it turned out, we didn't make Shangri-La but I'm so glad we visited the museum. It's a nice, compact museum with a great selection of art from around the world. There were paintings by lots of artists you'd recognize - Picasso, Matisse, Georgia O'Keefe - as well as nice pieces representing different countries and genres. I especially liked the Hawaiian artists exhibit.

Visiting this museum really gives you the sense of what an International city Honolulu is and Hawaii's long history and cultural significance.

And as a bonus, the cafe was wonderful.

The mall is huge with plenty of parking and hundreds of shops. The shops are a mix of very upmarket retailers, department stores, food stores and everything else you could think of. I would venture that there is something there for everyone. We actually walked from central Waikiki - a pleasant walk along Ala Moana Boulevard, but parking is plentiful (and I think it’s free) and there are public transport options from Waikiki.

There was a wide range of food choices, including a large food court. The centre and walkways are mainly in the open air.

The only negative I would say is that there could be more signposting. I got lost several times (maybe that’s just me). We worth a visit.
