This was such a great family activity! So fun riding the tram to the top and the kids loved feeding the chipmunks! We hiked all the way to the summit which was a little more than we expected but so worth the view from the top.

This place is a hidden gem!! My family of four loved it!! My husband and I rode with our 3.5 and 7 year old and felt very safe. The place looks new, the employees are friendly, and we waited less than 2 minutes each time we went through. We bought the 3 ride passes because once isn't enough! They also have 2 very nice areas you can watch if you don't want to go on it. One is a "wagon" near the ride line, and the other area has nice Adirondack chairs under a canopy. If you like to ride horses, ask about that. It's down the rode on the way up to Mustang Mountain.

Rocky Mountain National Park is a GORGEOUS national park!! Just make sure you prepare in advance and get a timed entry (required for entry into the park) I highly recommend getting the timed entry plus with the Bear Lake Access pass, especially if you want to hike to a handful of alpine lakes! Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved hiking here!!

Excellent place to start your exploration of the Estes Park area. Tons of information and maps that will help orient you. The extra bonus is the adjacent walk around Lake Estes. We saw numerous elk during our visit and we assume the the lake area (and flowing streams) has good fishing because there were a good number of people fly fishing.

We enjoyed the afternoon in downtown Estes in the quaint shops. Of course it rained off & on and we were allowed to get in out of the rain in the shops without any problem. Kids enjoyed watching the taffy being made and the waffle cones made. Shops all have unique gift items in a variety.

A fun shop for people of all ages to visit if you are in Estes Park or Rocky Mount National Park. A great collection of different crystals, rocks, minerals, fossils, geodes etc. with wide price ranges. The shop attendant was super nice and friendly. You may also feed the ducks out back with the corn the shop supplies. Very relaxing experience, I would highly recommend this place.

We've wanted to go for years but we've been here on the wrong days and then COVID. The facility is beautiful and more than we expected. Mike welcomed us into the observatory with the group of other families.

The night started off with some videos on space and astronomy. They are an educational way to kill time while you wait for it to get really dark. After the videos, he gave us a presentation using the star wall they have in the observatory. I enjoy astronomy and learned a lot. We brought our kids and they learned a lot too.

Then it was up to the observatory to get to use the 16" telescope. You can get 14 people up there but it is tight. Be sure to dress like you will be outside for an hour. There are blankets up there if you need them. Mike did a great job explaining and truly has a passion for the stars. He was able to speak on a level that could be understood by kids and astronomy fans alike. The views were phenomenal. We saw several planets, a globular cluster of stars, a nebula, and all sorts of awesome things. The skies were so clear we could see satellites speed by. Just an awesome experience.

The observatory is a memorial to Mike's adult children who died in an accident. He took their insurance and built this observatory. It is obvious that it is a work of love.

Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted. They use the donations for scholarships for Estes Park Students to go to college. Definitely book in advance and have a great time.
