Today was a beautiful sunny day so my wife and I stopped by Frelinghuysen Arboretum to welcome the beginning of spring and the end of winter. Anytime of the year is a good time to take pictures, especially if it gets you outside for the fresh air.

I visited Jockey Hollow immediately after visiting the Washington Headquarters Museum and the Ford Mansion and Museum. One has to drive 10 miles from there to get to Jockey Hollow. I first went to the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center. They had a replica of a soldier hut which was very interesting and also a book and gift shop. After that you can do a self-guided driving tour. The main thing to see is three soldier huts. One needs to climb a long hill on foot to get to where the soldier huts are located. It was a very hot day so I decided just to stop halfway up the hill and take some photos. I think the Washington Headquarters Museum and the Ford Mansion Museum are "must sees". Jockey Hollow is worth a quick visit and for me, seeing the replica of a soldier hut in the Visitor Center and seeing the actual huts from a distance were good enough.

Lonataka in the winter offers some of our northern feathered friends a place to rest and feed when the ice in the pond starts to thaw. Next time you are in the park check out what’s around the pond.

Awesome place to stop enjoy the path close by and see how life was back in the day. It is crazy to see how far we have progressed in such a short period of time. Well worth the stop to relax and enjoy the fall weather.

Hilly hiking, a nice swimming lake, many picnic areas, some mountain cycling in a near to Morristown package. But it's part of the County Park System that boasts all very good to excellent sites and suffers some from the lack of vistas.

Such a rewarding hike. We did the George Boulder loop starting across the Columbia trail parking. It’s a shaded hike, moderate difficulty and a full loop of about 3.1 miles. The trails were well marked and easy to follow. It was great to find restrooms and picnic area half way through. We stopped at the middle and enjoyed ourselves old fashioned blanket picnic by the lake before we walked down and found the therapeutic waterfall with pool. It was not too crowded. A perfect picnic trail spot . We took our time and completed this trail at leisure and still took us about 3 hrs , without stops it must take about 1hr 40 min .

Also watch out for north eastern water snake 🐍

This morning was an excellent time to walk around the beautiful and peaceful grounds of St. Peter’s Church. The air was cool and refreshing, the sky blue and sunny which made taking pictures of this Holy site even more meaningful.

The 'fort' here is a myth. There is a cannon pointing towards the city centre with a small patch of lawn and a walkway around. The place has a crucial link to American history which need to be explained and communicated perfectly for visitors to understand. The place is has a pleasant ambiance and offers a great view of the town but nothing else at present. There are two notices detailing how to deal with chance encounters with bears and ticks(!) but very little on the historical significance.

Delicious chocolates of consistent quality that must be tried. If in the area, do enjoy some, they are just so good.

This isn't the best location off the green - but totally walkable. There were a ton of people in this little shop. It sells all sorts of either gifts that feature New Jersey (i.e. cutting boards int he shape of NJ) or NJ makers. I bought an herbal eye mask for a friend to help her w/ her sinuses. It feels great to buy local and I appreciate this store for celebrating that! Very cute!
