I had my wedding ceremony and reception here om 9-9-23 and the experience was AMAZING. I could not have had a better venue. Chase was fantastic as an Event Planner. He was available every step of the way. I will post photos as I gather them. It was a truly magical experience for all of my guests, as well as Bob and I. Thank you, Arboretum!

I drove past this place hundreds of times before finally stopping in one weekend. The museum has some cool stuff but he history of the Ford Mansion is what blew me away. To think you’re standing in the same rooms that Washington, Hamilton and others lived in hundreds of years ago blows my mind. If you’re a history buff this free tour and free museum and definitely worth a few hours of your day.

My wife and I walked around the pond this beautiful Saturday morning before the park got to crowded. While crossing over a stream to the pond my wife noticed a snake below the bridge that was warming up in the sun. Of course I had to take a picture. There are a lot of wonderful creatures in this park if you just take the time to look around.

The driving tour is a nice, simple route that takes you to the visitor's center, the Wick House, and the re-created soldiers' huts. It's easy to stop and walk around the Wick House and the cell phone tour that is available gives you plenty of information about the area and the Wick family. The soldiers' huts are at the top of a pretty steep hill and it's fascinating to think of the army using the buildings through the winter of 1779-80. If you want to picnic or hike, this place is amazing and has miles and miles of well-marked trails.

Today we visited Macculloch Hall to see the trees blossoming in the garden. It had rained earlier in the day so the trees had a beautiful color.

Make sure you get your timed tickets, as the tours do sell out and only go every hour on the hour. The docent was very informative and all the artifacts and furniture were very interesting to see. You can spend a lot of time in the museum before and after your tour of the mansion, as there is a great exhibit.

We had an amazing time with Pat on this special October tour and learned so much. The house is beautiful inside and out and Pat was a wealth of information. She is so passionate about the home, Victorian mourning traditions, and the stories of the people who lived there. We could have stayed all day and listened to everything she knew!

We recently visited here while in Morristown to see its historic sites. We were fortunate to arrive just in time to catch a very interesting and entertaining demonstration called “Musical Machines & Automata.” This was a demonstration of selected samples from the museum’s wonderful Guinness collection of musical and/or mechanical dolls, figurines, instruments, music boxes, toys, clocks, etc. Our one-hour tour led by Bradford was engaging and informative. He was very knowledgeable and fervent about the items he demonstrated for us, including a pinned cylinder, disk player, punched paper player piano, a luminaire, etc. Seeing the demonstration made us appreciate the rest of the items in this impressive collection so much more.

As much as we enjoyed this exhibit, the rest of the museum was disappointing in comparison. Upstairs was a small Native American gallery and one about “Earth Science” (displaying fossils, dinosaurs, minerals, etc.). Also, there was a large model train display and a small decorative arts gallery. A large area of this museum was devoted to photography and avant-garde artwork of a style that we did not care for.

During the time of our visit (1:55pm-3:45pm), there was wedding setup going on in the main hallway; the rows of chairs set up there discouraged us from entering the side galleries. I am certain we missed some features (the museum’s map showed many more galleries than we remember encountering).

There was plentiful free parking here. We had free admission through our NARM membership.

Awesome place to stop enjoy the path close by and see how life was back in the day. It is crazy to see how far we have progressed in such a short period of time. Well worth the stop to relax and enjoy the fall weather.

We recently stopped by here as part of an autumn weekend spent visiting historic sites and museums in Morristown. It is a lovely house, in the Italianate style, which is operated by the Morris County Historical Society. We enjoyed a one-hour tour led by Mike, who told us all about the families who resided here over the years. After viewing the nicely furnished and decorated rooms downstairs, we enjoyed the special exhibit on display upstairs—From the Waist Up: Bodices, Vests & Jackets, 1840-1920. Two rooms were full of historic garments and fans, hats, purses, and other accessories. It was very fun to see those items in such a perfect setting.

There was plentiful free onsite parking, and admission was reasonable (we had free admission through our NARM membership but left a donation).

Hilly hiking, a nice swimming lake, many picnic areas, some mountain cycling in a near to Morristown package. But it's part of the County Park System that boasts all very good to excellent sites and suffers some from the lack of vistas.

Fresh produce. In-house made products. If you’re like me a very fussy eater/demands freshness. This is the place for you. As crazy as it might sound their empanadas are outstanding. As is the quiches. If you’re a pie man your needs have been answered. Not to mention the produce is extraordinarily fresh. Some may argue pricey. But if you demand freshness who isn’t. What You’re going to go to whole foods and save money. I don’t think so.
