Excellent museum, the brothers who own it own it with pride, they take a lot of time explaining aspects of the Mardi Gras Indian Culture, second line parades, etc... very intriguing and lots of fun!

Al Jackson, the museum’s curator, Treme local, community leader, and historian gave me a personal tour of the collection.
If you love jazz and love history this is the must-see Jazz Museum in New Orleans.
#39 of 116 Museums in New Orleans
The museum is housed in a traditional and elegant creole home, and reflects the unusual and unique nature of the large community of free people of color of New Orleans.
Also, the neighborhood it is in has other really interesting locations to see (Backstreet Cultural Museum, Petit Jazz Museum, Tomb of the Unknown Slave) Def worth a day’s visit.
