The glideport between La Jolla and Del Mar is maybe my favorite place on earth. You have RC Gliders flying their planes on one end and Paragliders and Ultra-Light aircraft on the other end of this high field overlooking the ocean at Black Beach the only clothing optional beach in the San Diego area. Wow what a fun place. Do Not miss this !!

January 2022 I made a dive to the La Jolla Caves through SCUBA San Diego. It was great. As an older, east coast boat diver, who had never done a shore entry in surf conditions, I had a wonderful time in a completely new environment (and temperature).

Shore entry in surf was new to me, and I had a free-flow from my second reg. The life guards immediately notified me of the situation -- nice to have over-watch. The dive was shallow, about 25-30 feet max, but it's a great experience having seals zipping around you as you enjoy the other underwater life. The "caves" are really a swim-through. We had lots of surge, but I wouldn't have missed it.

SCUBA San Diego provides good service, a great guide, and were very flexible.
Cole (my guide) is an accomplished diver and a great guide. I enjoyed the kelp, sea lions, fish, and everything else along with the caves. I had scheduled a follow-on night dive with Cole at La Jolla Canyon, but a last minute conflict I forced me to call the dive. Ron (the owner of SCUBA San Diego) had no problems sending me a certificate for full credit for the next time (soon, I hope) I come out. Being in business since 1968, I felt very comfortable accepting the certificate. All-in-all, a great experience. The Caves make for a great dive and I highly recommend SCUBA San Diego! And HIGHLY recommend Cole.

    BE CAREFUL!
Wear close-toe shoes with GRIP or you're going to slip and fall down. I definitely don't recommend this to kids or anyone who isn't an avid hiker. There's an upper and lower path but they're both sketchy at some point.
It's exceptionally busy in the summer and not enough room for more than one person to pass at a time. People can be rude and that leads to others falling.
I watched a girl slip and luckily there were enough people to grab her before she fell.

I felt like I was in Pirates of the Caribbean. It is dark and lit but dimly. The 145 steps/stairs are not spaced evenly so I would suggest hanging on to the railing accordingly and they can be wet so wear proper shoes. The ceilings can be a bit low too in spots so taller folks should be aware, I needed to duck in a spot or two, so anyone over 6 feet will have to as well. The cost is $7 per adult (I don't know if there is a different cost for children). When we arrived at the bottom there was a seal sleeping in the cave and the kayaking class was outside.
For covid safety measures, they asked that we wear our masks and provided hand sanitizer. They also space out the groups and you are given 15 mins to visit.

We hiked along the upper rocks and then spent about four hours (the two hours leading up to low tide and then the two hours after) exploring the tide pools below ... But we could have kept going! We saw crabs, hermit crabs, a sea star, a couple of sea slugs, a nudibranch, and an octopus! The volunteers roaming around are happy to share their stories/experiences and direct you to areas where you are likely to see something interesting.

Make sure you have a walking stick and water shoes with a good grip!

First time attendee from uk, was so excited to get tickets and be going and did not disappoint. Was understandably busy but not over crowded, I would say it’s not well sign posted for first time attendees, we walked round some pointless bits first before working out where all the main stuff was. Tried to queue for hall h for marvel but after an hour was told it was pointless. And it doesn’t stop there, there was loads of events going on around San Diego at the bars and pubs and even on the street. So definitely do your research so you know where else to head after the convention. I wouldn’t say it’s for all ages, I didn’t quite get the families trying to squeeze buggies down aisles of people but hey.

This is a cool roller coaster, and quite iconic. It's worth checking out as well as the beach nearby.

Our guide, Scott, was knowledgeable, easy-going and lots of fun to ride along the Pacific Coast with. We loved exploring the ecological preserve, seeing sea lions and harbor seals, and getting to watch and learn about surfing. I highly recommend this tour. Bikes are easy to ride too!

Mark is an amazing Captain. He took care of our group of 4, ensuring we got plenty of fish. Enough to feed us for 3 days! Mark took care of everything from setting up our rods to baiting our hooks and filleting our fish. There was never a dull conversation with him. It is clear this is his passion and he is the first Captain I’ve had that wants his clients to actually catch fish.

Just did a SCUBA refresher with these guys. Cole taught the class in South Mission. I haven’t dived in many years so needed to get back to theory and hands on skills, especially safety. The class was the most comprehensive refresher I have taken! Cole did a great job getting me back in the water again. I highly recommend this course!

My fiancé and I took our bachelorette/bachelor party for a sunset sail and I’m so glad we did. It was everyone’s favorite part of our weekend trip. Highly recommend!

Terry was an incredible host. The second we walked through the doors, he greeted us by name, was charismatic, hilarious, and extremely informative. He took pictures for us and we enjoyed the Diego Delight tour. It was the perfect tour with just the right amount of time. I recommend taking Dramamine if you’ve never been in a helicopter before. The flight, itself, wasn’t choppy, though. I highly recommend Corporate Helicopters and Terry as your pilot.

Jessie was super easy to work with, great communication. We will rent from Jessie again if we are in the area. We rented an e-scooter for 2 days.
