PROS: The sea lions sure have a lot to say. The seals are super cute. The waves crashing are amazing. The birds are beautiful. Fairly nice public restrooms.
CONS: Lots of stairs and hills to get to area. These beasts smell terrible. Birds are pooping everywhere.

- Ted W7 contributionsThe glideport between La Jolla and Del Mar is maybe my favorite place on earth. You have RC Gliders flying their planes on one end and Paragliders and Ultra-Light aircraft on the other end of this high field overlooking the ocean at Black Beach the only clothing optional beach in the San Diego area. - Michelle G6 contributionsThis is a great place to visit in the early spring to see harbor because the harbor seals give birth on the beach. The beach is closed off for humans, but you can walk along the sea wall to get a better look at the animals.

I advise you go around 6pm just in time to watch the sunset.

- Dave WSaint Louis, MO125 contributionsWe stayed in this neighborhood on Law Street. Just a great relaxed classic southern California feel. Lots of interesting locally owned small restaurants, shops + cafes on Mission Blvd. No national chains which was nice for a change. Tons of surfers in the morning which was fun to watch. Walk the boardwalk (asphalt trail) along the beach down to Mission Beach for more great people watching and local cafes/bars/vendors. Be alert, stay to the right, and watch out for skaters + bikers. But people were very courteous + friendly. You can rent bikes if you want to ride. Some homeless people, but not a problem. Nice clean beaches too, but finding parking can be difficult at times. Public restrooms available.
