San Diego has scenic areas. The National Veterans Memorial brings back memories with great scenery around.

The glideport between La Jolla and Del Mar is maybe my favorite place on earth. You have RC Gliders flying their planes on one end and Paragliders and Ultra-Light aircraft on the other end of this high field overlooking the ocean at Black Beach the only clothing optional beach in the San Diego area. Wow what a fun place. Do Not miss this !!

If you are in La jolla you just have to visit Wind-And-Sea Beach which is located right a the water's edge of WestBorne avenue in downtown La Jolla where the surfers ride the most dangerous surf, around huge boulders, some partially submerged and some half visible in the crashing surf. Its a trip not to be missed.

Wanted to see the lighthouse. the views here and the lighthouse are amazing. Short drive from Shelter Island and there is good signage to get you here.

We enjoyed the Point Loma area for its less busy roads and the views. We loved being able to see across to Coronado Island

Worth the visit just get there early or you’re going to be in a long line to even get in. They do charge so that’s the reason for the line

Amazing production, acting, sets, singing, lyrics, costumes and story. Loved the spin to make the story current while retaining the Peter Pan story elements that we all love. The flying was awesome too! Highly recommend seeing this musical!

Friends told us about this place - and where to find some parking! It is an absolute find of a short hike. You go through the native grass/bushes for a bit and then pop out to the edge of the cliffs north of La Jolla. Amazing and spectacular views both up and down the coastline. Since it is not far south of the Gliderport, you often see the pilots come over as well. Some amazing houses and mansions are in view! The trail is a circle so you don't really have to repeat anything either. Not to be missed!

My parents live right off the cliffs overlooking Black’s Beach. I grew up in San Diego and I don’t know of anyone who takes the trek down the cliff just to see naked people.

Definitely take a ride to this beautiful veterans cemetery, up on a hill, overlooking the ocean , it's quite a sight and a touching memorial If you are heading to Cabrillo Monument, it's on the way there on both sides of the road in Point Loma

Why are more museums not like this? The BEST interactive video presentation I've ever had in a museum. Interesting and informative the whole way. My 2-year-old and 3-year-old were paying attention the whole time. Felt like a half hour presentation, but I think it was more like 45 minutes. And then we spent a while panning for gold after. Free museum with a dedicated parking lot (also free). Exceeded expectations. My husband and I kept looking at each other saying how awesome it was for the whole family.

A work-in-progress (aren't all layouts?) - this is a must for train fans of all ages. They display several gauge trains - O, HO and more - professionally done and absolutely wonderful to see. This is one of the best model train museums I have ever seen - so reaslistic looking and extremely well laid-out!

Wonderful presentation, free, and by appointment, of a private collection of maps and atlases. Many examples of world maps, early US maps, the Caribbean, Asia, etc., as well as pictorial maps. Well worth at least an hour.

Nice to see a tribute to Bob. Although he was a bit before our time, we just caught a glimpse of the tail end of his career, we hold great admiration for Bob. Its one of those things that you can say "we were there".

We chose this to see out of a multitude in the Escondido Valley with it being the oldest. With this being a lull in the tourist season, we walked in and was able to get a wine tasting without a reservation. The tasting came with an additional treat; the opportunity to sample some chocolates with our tasting from a chocolate shop just down the courtyard of this village setting. Salut!
